Abstract: A method for producing a coil for electric apparatus of the present invention is the method for producing a coil for electric apparatus for cutting spirally a block-shaped workpiece formed with a cylindrical portion corresponding to the coil in a circumferential direction of the cylindrical portion, the spiral coil is formed by turning a cutting means while moving it relatively to the workpiece from a part corresponding to one end of the coil to a part corresponding the other end of the coil along a machining line spirally set in the circumferential direction of the cylindrical portion. According to the invention, since the coil is formed by cutting the continuous cutting machining plane without generating a step in design from the block-shaped workpiece formed with a cylindrical portion corresponding to the coil using a wire-tool etc., it is possible to constitute a high-quality coil.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a receiving module, a conversion module, first and second rollers, a motor, a forcing member, an implement, and a cutting head. The receiving module receives a desired weight value to correct an imbalance of a wheel/tire assembly. The conversion module converts the desired weight value to a corresponding first amount of a wheel weight material. The first and second rollers engage first and second opposing sides of the wheel weight material. The motor drives the first roller according to the first amount. The forcing member presses the second roller in a first direction that forms an angle with an axis of the first roller. The implement selectively forms a mark on the wheel weight material. The cutting head is selectively actuated to separate the first amount from the wheel weight material.

Abstract: Apparatus for automatic coil feed of a sheet metal stock strip in progressive dies for punch press die operations which adjust the length of stock strip being intermittently fed to the punch press die while the press is operating. The apparatus comprises feed apparatus for feeding a predetermined length of stock strip to the punch press die which feed apparatus normally operates at a preset feed length. There is a control for maintaining the correct feed length of the stock strip being intermittently fed into the punch press die and includes a correction arrangement operable to mementarily change the preset feed length to supply a correcting length of stock strip to the punch press die. There are two longitudinal arrays of registration openings in the stock strip.

Abstract: The instant invention is particularly directed to a method and apparatus for automated handling of panels comprising a plurality of interconnected substrates in order to control and separate the circuit boards in a continuous processing line. One embodiment incorporates two shearing stations and a rotary transfer device therebetween in order to transfer a panel portion from the first station to the second station while controlling and rotating the panel for subsequent feed to the second station such that the panel portion is cut on a line of the substrate which is perpendicular to the original line of cut of the substrate. Throughout the handling of the panels and panel portions, sensing, gripping, and indexed feeding of the panels and panel portions are under the control of a programmable computer.

  • Patent number: 4586413
Abstract: A sign making machine is provided comprising a frame and a power unit attached to the frame. A hydraulic cylinder is also attached to the frame and is hydraulically connected to the power unit. This hydraulic cylinder has a piston rod extending downwardly. A platen is mounted on the bottom of said piston rod and a die is mounted beneath said platen. Sheet material is mounted on rolls and passes beneath said die on a cutting surface on the bottom portion of the frame. The sheet material passes through a track means. Indicia on the die indicate a width quotient of a symbol to be cut. A drive unit advances the sheeting material by a distance equal to the width quotient of the symbol plus the width quotient of the next symbol to be cut plus the spacing between these symbols.

Abstract: In apparatus for cutting a web of flexible material, upper and lower cutters are mounted on a swivel arm movable by a control means which determines the position of the cut. The control means includes a pneumatic cylinder and piston pivoted to a control arm linked to or integral with the swivel arm and of a much shorter effective length than the swivel arm. The cutting action is initiated by inter-engagement between the swivel arm and a stop edge of the web.

  • Patent number: 4285754
Abstract: An arrangement for fabricating planar elements which may be stacked for producing predetermined surfaces and bodies. The planar elements have cross-sections corresponding to respective cross-sections of the surface to be constructed. The planar elements are formed by cutting them from plate-shaped material or sheet metal, and the cut-out elements are held to the parent sheet or plate material by tabs. The planar elements are cut successively from the sheet or plate-shaped material at spaced intervals. The cutting action is such as to leave the tabs for holding the planar elements in place. Registration holes are punched about the planar element, so that these may be readily stacked relative to each other, as required to form the surface to be constructed. Sprocket holes are also punched in the sheet material to advance the material along a processing path at which the various processing stations are located.
