  • Patent number: 4171655
Abstract: An eccentric center-distance adjuster for rotary die cutters having load-biased screw adjustment of the center-distance between rotary die cutting cylinders which is stabilized against the die cutter frame in the same direction as the cutting load between said cylinders thereby minimizing cylinder bounce.

  • Patent number: 4143568
Abstract: Web cutting apparatus employs a rotary knife cylinder with elongated, radially outwardly projecting knife blade assemblies spaced around its periphery. A rotary anvil cylinder spaced parallel to the knife cylinder carries a corresponding peripheral array of elongated anvils. When the two cylinders rotate, the knife blades bear against the anvils at the nip between the two cylinders. The knife blade assemblies are flexible and resilient so that each blade edge is biased against its anvil at the instant of interference, with a local force sufficient to cut web. Further, the natural frequency of the knife assemblies is selected to be considerably higher than those of the other machine parts so that the spacing between the knife blades and the anvils at the nip is substantially unaffected by vibrations of those parts. Also the apparatus efficiently removes trim strips produced by the web cuts.

  • Patent number: 4130042
Abstract: A die-cutter assembly including a die-cutting roll and an anvil roll between which a web of material is passed for die-cutting of labels. Spacing between the rolls is controlled by a pair of bearings at each end of one of the rolls, each pair including an inner bearing in which the roll is journaled and an outer bearing which is in rolling contact with the die-cutting roll. A rotatable eccentric spacer between the inner and outer bearings provides an adjustment of the spacing between the axis of the cutting roll and the axis of the anvil roll.

  • Patent number: 4090701
Abstract: A cutting device for a folding apparatus of a rotary printing machine: a folding cylinder which delivers printed product to folding rollers, a cutting cylinder having means to cut the printed product and means to press the printed product against the folding cylinder until the time for release of the printed product; means for moving the axis of the cutting cylinder around the axis of the folding cylinder thereby to adjust the release point of the means that presses the product against the folding cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4082023
Abstract: A device for measuring and cutting cables in chosen lengths at its rerolling for delivery which device comprises rotatable cutting tools, a measuring wheel and a grip-and-pulling-wheel, where the grip-and-pulling-wheel when pulling the cable is connected to a clutch mechanism arranged to be electromagnetically set either to let the grip-and-pulling-wheel pull the cable and to prevent backward motion of the cable or to allow motion of the cable both forwards and backwards.

  • Patent number: 4034637
Abstract: A double-rotor shear used to cut materials in strip form has opposing blades arranged to rotate in opposite directions with respect to two parallel axes. The cutting edge of each of the blades is rectilinear and situated in a plane passing through the corresponding axis of rotation at an angle with respect to the axis. At all times during operation the two cutting edges are disposed symmetrically with respect to the plane passing through a line equidistant from the two axes of rotation, which plane is normal to the plane defined by these axes.
