  • Patent number: 9908189
Abstract: Elevation mechanisms for table saws and anti-backdrive mechanisms for use in elevation mechanisms for table saws are disclosed. The anti-backdrive mechanisms typically include three sub-assemblies: an input assembly, an output assembly, and a fixed assembly. The anti-backdrive mechanisms prevent a torque related to the output assembly from changing the blade elevation. For example, the weight of the blade and the structure supporting the blade is prevented from backdriving the elevation mechanism and allowing the blade to drop.

  • Publication number: 20090288534
Abstract: An inline tape cutter system that manufactures taped packages that can be later-opened without the needed for cutting tools to manual cut packing tape. The inline tape cutter system provides a package engagement assembly having a drive assembly, a cutting arm and an engagement arm, wherein physical contact between the engagement arm and a closed package on a conveyor assembly imparts rotational motion to the drive assembly and directs the cutting arm into contact with the closed package. The cutting arm can include a cutting wire form from a resistive heating element that is capable of burning/cutting packaging tape on the closed package. The inline tape cutter system can include a horizontal positioning assembly and a vertical positioning assembly such that the package engagement assembly can engage a wide variety of package sizes and configuration.

  • Publication number: 20090084237
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for retrieving recyclable metal from an electrical cable having a core strand and wound strands wound about the core strand. The apparatus includes a frame having a first and a second end and a first and a second side. A motor is mounted on the frame and a drive is drivably connected to the motor. A rotor is rotatably supported by the frame, the rotor being drivingly connected to the drive such that when the motor is energized, the motor rotates the rotor about an axis of rotation of the rotor. The rotor defines a channel for the passage therethrough of the core strand. The channel extends coaxially about the axis of rotation of the rotor. The rotor also defines a bore for the passage therethrough of the wound strands. The bore is disposed parallel to and spaced relative to the axis of rotation. The bore has an inlet and an outlet. A shear is secured to the frame adjacent to the rotor.

  • Patent number: 6668692
Abstract: The invention consists of a process for the control of the motorized feed drive for the movable workplace table of a machine tool, in particular the rolling carriage of a circular saw. The manual force that is applied by the operator in direction of the feed is sensed and converted to a corresponding measured value. From this a set value for the feed rate of the rolling carriage is created and from that is derived a control signal for the drive.

  • Patent number: 4507037
Abstract: In a booklet binding machine a flat cover signature is added in leading edge register to a single or collated signatures moving in a travel path prior to saddle folding. The signatures are passed as a unit to a stitching station to be jogged and center stitched. Overlapping pairs of arbor mounted rotary slitting blades at opposing sides of the travel path head and tail trim the signatures during its movement by feed rollers between the pairs of slitting blades. The uppermost arbor and blades are angularly rotated at a greater speed than the lowermost blades to insure a clean cut of the signatures. Cooperating presser rings on the arbors cooperate with the slitting blades prevent buckling of the signatures and strip tail-out of the trimmed edges thereof. Bearings mounting the uppermost presser rings on the upper arbor allow the uppermost rings to rotate at the rate of travel of the lowermost rings.
