Plural Cutting Steps Effect Progressive Cut Patents (Class 83/49)
  • Patent number: 11051522
Abstract: This invention relates to a cutting system for cutting food products while the food products are conveyed by a conveyor. An arc-shaped system and a cutting means are provided, where the cutting means is adapted to be connected to the arc-shaped system. The arc-shaped system is adapted to be positioned above a surface area of the conveyor on which said food products are resting during the cutting such that the center of the arc-shaped system is around the surface area. A control unit operates the position of the cutting means within the arc-shaped system based on image data.

  • Patent number: 10459421
Abstract: The invention relates to methods and systems for preparing a cutting path for machine cutting of a plurality of parts from a sheet material using beam cutting technology. Each one of the plurality of parts is formed by one of a plurality of two dimensional free form shapes, comprising at least a first shape. The method comprises a step of identifying at least one segment of the first shape, which segment prevents a part of the first shape to be positioned and cut so close to another shape in the plurality of shapes so that only one cut of the cutting beam is found between the parts. The method further comprises a step of modifying the segment to provide a modified first shape. The modified first shape comprises a modified segment, which is configured such that the modified segment allows a part of the first shape to be positioned so close to another shape in the plurality of shapes so that only one cut of the cutting beam is found between the parts whenever the shape of the parts allows it.

Abstract: A method and system of cutting parts from sheet material is disclosed. The system identifies critical segments of the cutting path where cutting difficulties may arise and modifies the data that guide the cutting tool for more accurate cutting through the critical segments. In particular, the system identifies segments of the cutting path proximately close to one another called “common line segments” and generates a optimized cutting path using a single pass to cut common line segments and minimizing total cutting time, including dry haul time. The method and system of the present invention provide an optimal cutting path and control of a cutting tool resulting in higher quality cut pieces and the higher throughput. Abstract: A method and machine for the multi-stroke, continuous slotting of plate-shaped workpieces and especially sheet metal plates are described. As part of a method for the continuous multi-stroke slotting of plate-shaped workpieces, a slotting tool (16) and the workpiece are moved in an advance direction relative to each other in a gate-cutting function and is at least one subsequent slot cutting stroke. This is followed by a return movement in the opposite direction (32) over a return length (A) that corresponds at a maximum to the length of the previously laterally cut slot. This is followed by a cross-cutting stroke in which the strip of material (31) that was laterally cut in the gate-cutting function and the minimum of one subsequent slotting stroke is severed at a distance from the point of its connection to the remaining workpiece.

Abstract: A method and system of cutting parts from sheet material comprising a numerically-controlled cutting system having a cutting tool for cutting along a path, the method comprising the steps of: (a) placing a plurality of templates which define the shapes and sizes of the parts to be cut upon the sheet material while minimizing the spaces between the templates to form a closely-packed marker; (b) entering the marker into a pre-processor; (c) detecting common lines and tangencies between templates in the marker; (d) determining a path and speed for said cutting tool; and (e) directing the cutting tool in accordance with the path and speed such that the parts are cut from the sheet material. The pre-processor identifies critical segments of the cutting path where cutting difficulties may arise and modifies the data that guide the cutting tool for more accurate cutting through the critical segments.

Abstract: The substrate sawing process for a strip mainly includes multi-alignment corresponding to a plurality of substrate areas of strips which are arranged side-by-side on a plate. A saw machine is mechanically moved to the substrate areas and is positioned by the alignments of corresponding substrate areas for cutting the substrate areas of the strips in the first phase. Then the saw machine is further mechanically moved to the substrate areas again and is positioned by the alignments of corresponding substrate areas again for cutting the substrate areas of the strips in the second phase. Therefore, an error in any of the substrate areas in the first phase and second phase cannot add to the peripheral substrate areas.

Abstract: A concrete cutting saw and the process of using the concrete cutting saw for making a 45° chamfer cut at an edge of a 90° cut through a concrete wall. The process includes the steps of cutting a 90° cut through a concrete wall with a 90° saw mounted on a trolley riding along a track affixed to the concrete adjacent the cut. The 90° blade is lifted so that it is above the wall surface and a chamfer saw assembly is affixed to the frame. Next, the chamfer saw motor is started and the saw is lowered into a cutting position and the trolley is once again moved along the track, thereby forming a 45° chamfer along the edge of the cut. The apparatus utilizes a chamfer saw frame affixed to the trolley frame after the 90° saw blade has been lifted. The chamfer saw frame is mounted so that it is directly in the position which the 90° saw occupies when the 90° saw blade 16 is in a cutting position.
