Abstract: The present invention makes it possible to obtain a fine finish along a trim line in a plate material while preventing scoring between a floating cutter and a main trimming press upper. A floating cutter unit is provided with: a floating cutter for cutting scrap from a plate-shaped material, said floating cutter being attached to and used in a trimming press processing device that cuts scrap from a plate material along a trim line Tr and that additionally cuts scrap along a scrap cut line Sc; a holder set for holding the floating cutter so as to be movable in the direction of an axial center O; a spring that is brought into contact with the tail end surface of the floating cutter and that applies reaction force to the floating cutter; and a pair of cutters that are attached to the holder set and positioned on both sides of the floating cutter along the trim line Tr.

Abstract: The present invention is generally directed to a die cut assembly for a roller die cutting machine having a base member, a cutting rule, and a compressible top layer. Base member is generally a rectangular shape, having a length, to width and thickness. A cutting rule including a cutting edge is formed into a pattern containing a plurality of geometric shapes. The pattern containing geometric shapes is formed to include each geometric shape sharing a common point when the shape allows it. Cutting rule is generally coupled to the base member at a skew wherein no side of the pattern is transverse to the length of the base member. The compressible top layer is coupled to the base member. Generally, cutting rule nests in compressible top layer and compressible top layer extends beyond the cutting edge of the cutting rule.

Abstract: A trimming press working apparatus 1 includes a trimming means 6 for cutting a plate material 2 along a trimming line 5 which divides a product portion 3 from a non-product portion 4 in the plate material 2; a scrap cutting means 9 for cutting the non-product portion 4 along scrap severing lines 7 each intersecting the trimming line 5 to make the non-product portion 4 into a plurality of scrap pieces 8; and a pad 10 for pressurizing and restraining the product portion 3 of the plate material 2.
