Resiliently Biased Connection Patents (Class 83/698.31)
  • Patent number: 11358746
Abstract: A razor blade holder assembly having a body, a movable jaw and an adjustment member. The body has a fixed jaw with a support face and an adjustor channel. The movable jaw assembly has a plate member and a releasable securement subassembly. The plate member is over the adjustor channel and the support face. The releasable securement subassembly couples the plate member to the body and applies a biasing force against the plate member toward the support face. The adjustment member has an elongated rod member rotatably within the adjustor channel, a forcing surface is selectively rotatable into the plate member to direct the plate member away from the support face. In a clamped configuration, the plate member clamps a razor blade. In an open configuration, the forcing surface of the elongated rod member overcomes the biasing member to separate the plate member from the support face.

  • Patent number: 8875610
Abstract: A kerf lock is provided for the retention of die cutting dies in die slots of a retaining board. A retaining system is also provided and includes a plurality of lock slots oriented substantially perpendicularly to a direction of insertion of a die cutting die. The lock slots have open faces to permit communication with the die slots. When the kerf lock is located within a lock slot it extends into the die slot until a die is inserted into the die slot. Upon initial insertion of a die into the die slot, the kerf lock compresses laterally. Once the die is completely inserted, the kerf lock exerts a normal force against the die in the direction of the die slot wall opposite the open face. An inserted die cutting die can thus be securely held within the die slot.

An annulus located on top of the body is coaxially aligned with said mandrel and hole saw and includes two holes, the annulus rotatable around its longitudinal axis from a first to a second position. In the first position the annulus holes are aligned with the bores and shafts allowing the shafts to be freely insertable and removable and in the second position the holes are misaligned to lock the shafts to the annulus. Such an arrangement allows the hole-saw and the mandrel to be easily and quickly mountable and demountable.
