  • Patent number: 9296118
Abstract: A device (1) for grooving cardboard cuttings (2, 3) that features a driven, horizontally supported transport drum (11) and spaced-apart endless belts (51) that revolve around rollers (54.1 to 54.8) and effectively convey the cardboard cuttings (2, 3) by pressing them against the drum shell. Groove cutting tools (72) are arranged between the belts (51) at a defined distance from the drum shell and make it possible to produce grooves with essentially triangular cross section in the cardboard cuttings (2). In order to adjust the aperture angle of the grooves independently of one another, the adjustment of the angle within the respective groove cutting tool (72) is realized by curved guides (77). The center of curvature (81) of the curved guide (77) lies in the region of the drum shell, as well as in the region of the blade tip (71a) of the knife (71), such that the aperture angle and the depth of the groove can be adjusted independently of one another.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a receiving module, a conversion module, first and second rollers, a motor, a forcing member, an implement, and a cutting head. The receiving module receives a desired weight value to correct an imbalance of a wheel/tire assembly. The conversion module converts the desired weight value to a corresponding first amount of a wheel weight material. The first and second rollers engage first and second opposing sides of the wheel weight material. The motor drives the first roller according to the first amount. The forcing member presses the second roller in a first direction that forms an angle with an axis of the first roller. The implement selectively forms a mark on the wheel weight material. Abstract: Method for producing sheets of corrugated cardboard with a variable format in which a web of corrugated cardboard is removed continuously from a heating and pulling device of s conventional corrugated cardboard installation. The sheets are processed to the required format in at least one longitudinal cutting and grooving device. For this purpose the web is conveyed through a pulling device. A cross cutter cuts the sheets of corrugated cardboard from the cardboard web according to a preset format. The cardboard web is conveyed to a cross cutter for the corrugated cardboard sheets in the direction of conveyance without cutting them crosswise. When the format is changed, the area of the web of corrugated cardboard where the formats overlap is cut out by the cross cutter and removed to a waste container through a trap.

  • Patent number: 5343791
Abstract: The present invention discloses an apparatus for slicing a food product such as a potato into helical strips such as curlicue potato fries. The potatoes are pumped with water by a centrifugal food pump to a tapered elastic tubular delivery tube. The tube expands as the potato progresses along the tube. The delivery tube allows the potato to be gently forced against a circular rotating cutting head assembly. The cutting head assembly cores the potato, scores concentric cuts and then slices the potato to produce helical cut segments.

Abstract: In the present invention, complete cutting is carried out by primary and secondary cutting devices without causing the crush, break or crack of a cut portion even in the case of a composite paper sheet such as a thick corrugated cardboard sheet or the like. There is provided a cutting apparatus for corrugated cardboard sheets which cuts and separates a corrugated cardboard sheet along the direction of travel and positioned upstream from a cylinder cutting portion. The cylinder cutting portion performs secondary cutting and consists of a knife cylinder having a knife and an anvil cylinder. The primary cutting device is provided with a cutter knife for performing primary cutting and is fixed to a bracket and is capable of movement and adjustment in the widthwise direction of the sheet. At the opposite side with respect to the corrugated cardboard sheet is provided a sheet guide capable of movement on a guide rod so as to change a relative position (gap) with respect to the cutter knife.

Abstract: A method of making a foldable dial card having openings and edges in registration using a flexographic press. The process includes the steps of feeding an elongated stiff web into the flexographic press and then printing an image on the web, which is followed by feeding the printed web between an interior cutting roller and a backing roller to cut the internal regions of the dial card in the web material. After cutting the internal regions around the interior of the dial card the dial card is then fed under an air nozzle which removes the severed interior portions of the dial card from the web. Next, the printed web with the cut internal regions is fed between a second pair of rollers, one an exterior die cutting roller and the other a back up roller with the back-up roller moving at a faster surface velocity than the surface velocity of the exterior die cutting roller. The exterior die cutting roller cuts the external regions around the dial card so that the dial card can be removed from the web.
