  • Patent number: 9337780
Abstract: An amplifier (50) for voice or audio signals, and particularly for headset applications, uses a low gm amplifier (54) for initially charging an output node (OUT) at the beginning of a power-on phase. After charging the output node, a main amplifier (56) is enabled to amplify the voice or audio signal. At power-down, a sample-and-hold circuit (58) drives an output transistor to discharge an AC coupling capacitor (20). Thus, spikes at the output node are eliminated and an external filtering capacitor is not needed.

  • Patent number: 8431812
Abstract: Storage section stores therein a plurality of tone data sets each representative of a tone waveform but also a plurality of character data sets in association with the tone data sets, each of the character data sets representing content of the tone waveform, represented by the corresponding tone data set, in character quanta. Display control section causes a display section to display an image with some of the stored tone data sets as selection candidates. Selection section is provided for a user to select at least one of the tone data sets displayed as the selection candidates. Identification section searches for and identifies a plurality of character data sets similar to the character data set corresponding to the user-selected tone data set. The display control section causes the display section to further display an image of a plurality of the tone data sets associated with the identified character data sets.

  • Patent number: 8022288
Abstract: A musical device is disclosed that performs a variety of user defined or user controlled activities. These activities include but are not limited to producing musical notes, determining, influencing or changing the sound, quality, voice, volume or other characteristics of a note, activating and coordinating the replay of stored loops, recording, editing and playing user created pieces previously produced and controlling peripheral devices such as lighting. The musical device uses a combination of strings and frets to locate notes on a fingerboard that a user may activate. As a result, the invention includes a system to generate a sound corresponding to a note selected and activated according to preselected parameters such as the voice (e.g., trumpet, violin). A user's intent to play a particular note can be confirmed by a system of sensors corresponding to each note position.

  • Patent number: 7893340
Abstract: Embodiments of the keyboard system that can determine accurate key operation. The system provides immediate processing of the data input streams from various strike sources, the key stroke depth data, the key strike speed data, the key strike acceleration data. The movement state volume V can be calculated using a formula shown below, based on the key strike depth D, the key speed S, the key acceleration A, the coefficient a, b, c, and constant d. V=a*D+b*S+c*A+d. When the volume level exceeds the predetermined level A, the system determines that the key has been pressed. When it is determined that the key has been pressed, the “note-on” information is outputted to the sound source. The velocity value included in the “note-on” information is calculated with reference to the velocity curve based on the key speed when it is determined that the key has been pressed.

  • Patent number: 7402743
Abstract: “Method and apparatus entraining interactive media players into a sustained experience of “Kinesthetic Spatial Sync,” defined as a perceived simultaneity and spatial superposition between a non-tactile, full body (“free-space”) input control process and immersive multisensory feedback. Asynchronous player input actions and (MIDI tempo) clock-synchronous media feedback events exhibit a seamless synesthesia1 or multisensory events fused into an integral event perception, this being between musical sound (hearing), visual responses (sight), and body kinesthetic (radial extension, angular position, height, speed, timing, and precision). This non-tactile interface process and multisensory feedback “look and feel” is embodied as an optimal ergonomic human interface for interactive music and as a six-degrees-of-freedom full-body-interactive immersive media controller.

  • Patent number: 5025703
Abstract: An electronic stringed instrument employs a plurality of sensors or monitors for instrument performance. Preferred sensors or monitors include a detector for detecting that a string of the instrument is vibrated, an apparatus for evaluating a string-vibration strength or a string touch, an apparatus for discriminating a fret operation position on a fingerboard or a fundamental frequency of a vibration of the vibrated string, a tremolo arm sensor, and a string-bending sensor. These performance input parameters are assigned to various control functions for musical tones generated by a sound source and/or various control functions for effects added to these musical tones by an effector. The function assignment is preferably programmable. In an operation, a music control apparatus control the sound source and/or effector in response to a performance monitor so that musical tones for the strings can be distinguished from each other or effects for the musical tones can be distinguished from each other.
