Closure Has Firing Device Patents (Class 89/1.705)
  • Patent number: 9488429
Abstract: A recovery system for recovering a disrupter after the disrupter has been fired to launch a projectile toward an explosive device. The recovery system includes a retainer that couples to the barrel of the disrupter, a slide that couples to the retainer, and a base that couples to a support. The slide removeably couples to the base. Responsive to a recoil force of firing the disrupter, the slide decouples from the base, and the disrupter, the slide, and the retainer moves away from the base and the support in a direction opposite a direction of travel of the projectile thereby completely separating the slide from the base. The disrupter may be recovered after separation from the base. The recovery system may further include a plunger that extends while the slide is removeably coupled to the base to retain the slide coupled to the base prior to firing the disrupter. Responsive to firing the disrupter, the plunger retracts to facilitate decoupling of the slide from the base.

  • Patent number: 9470468
Abstract: Firearms and handguards for firearms having three pivotably attached pods wherein a first pod is deployable as a monopod and second and third pods are deployable together as a bipod, or having at least one pivotable pod having at least one hinge pin, at least one locking pin, and at least one return spring that biases the at least one locking pin. In some embodiments, a return spring, a slide spindle, a locking spindle, or a combination thereof, push two locking pins, for example, into opposite detents when the pod is pivoted into a deployed position, and the pod can be released by moving a slide button and secured in a stowed position with a catch. In certain embodiments, the monopod is pivotably attached to the handguard aft of where the bipod is pivotably attached to the handguard. In particular embodiments, the firearm is an AR-15 or an M-16.

  • Patent number: 8220376
Abstract: A countermass weapon including a launching tube open or openable in both ends. The launching tube houses a launchable unit, a countermass, a pressure chamber, a propellant charge that upon firing and combustion of the charge in cooperation with the pressure chamber and the countermass accelerates the launchable unit forwards in the tube at the same time as the countermass accelerates backwards in the tube, and a firing and supporting unit connected to the outside of the launching tube. The countermass is designed such that a forward directed recoil is obtained and the launching tube is designed to be disengageable from the firing and supporting unit during the forward directed recoil.

  • Patent number: 7418896
Abstract: A recoilless weapon system is provided rear portion, a barrel in movable connection to the rear portion, and a handle portion in removable connection with the barrel and/or rear portion. Further, a ballast payload cartridge is removably disposed within a ballast payload cartridge portion of said rear portion, and serves as a center breach to support a combat cartridge. The ballast payload cartridge may have a side primer disposed therein, which allows a single weapon firing pin to simultaneously initiate both the combat cartridge primer and the ballast payload cartridge primer.
