Transverse Patents (Class 89/22)
  • Patent number: 8826794
Abstract: A breech mechanism sliding contact assembly that allows for ignition, gun ground, and ammunition data link circuits to be broken while the breechblock is open. The sliding contact assembly further allows these circuits to be reconnected when the breechblock is closed. The breech mechanism sliding contact assembly comprises two separate connectors: a block slide connector that assembles to the breechblock and a ring slide connector that assembles to the breech ring. The two connectors operate in compact, pre-existing headspaces between the breechblock and the breech ring.

  • Patent number: 7849777
Abstract: A firearm with an improved breech bolt assembly comprises a barrel (12), a breech bolt assembly (18, 21), a body (14) equipped on opposite sides with ports (15) for the ejection of a cartridge case, in addition to a magazine (17), wherein the breech bolt assembly, which is moveable with respect to the body (14) comprises a breech bolt-holder slide (21), a breech bolt (18) equipped with a rotating locking head (25), cam guide rails (26, 27) of the relative movement between the breech bolt (18) and slide (21), and also stopping means (28, 29) of the relative movement comprising a control pin (28) which can be moved vertically with respect to a first control seat (29), charged by a recoil spring (30) applied between the slide (21) and the pin (28), said pin (28) having a cocking handle (23), or reloading lever, rotatingly applied thereto, for the manual moving of the breech bolt assembly (10).

  • Patent number: 7296506
Abstract: A make-break device includes a first component having at least one engaging member, the engaging member presenting first and second orthogonally disposed edges, each edge being defined at the intersection of a respective pair of chamfered face and a second component having at least one engaging member, the engaging member presenting first and second orthogonally disposed edges, each edge being defined at the intersection of a respective pair of chamfered faces, where the first component first edge and the second component first edge cooperatively act to assist in facilitating radial meshing engagement of the first and second components and where the first component second edge and the second component second edge cooperatively act to assist in facilitating axial meshing engagement of the first and second components. A cannon employing the make-break device and a method of selectively coupling/decoupling stationary electric drive assemblies from associated shiftable driven assemblies are included.

  • Patent number: 7178443
Abstract: A wedge-type breechblock is provided for a weapon having a barrel that recoils relative to a cradle, the barrel having a bore with an axis, and a breech plate. The breechblock includes a closing wedge for arranging in the breech plate such that the closing wedge can be displaced transverse to the axis of the bore. A pin-type carrier, through a control lever and a breech mechanism shaft, activates the closing wedge. An ascending curved track is located on a guiding device, and guides the pin-type carrier during a counter-recoil motion of the barrel from an intake region to a highest point, so that the control lever is pivoted during the counter-recoil motion of the barrel and the breech mechanism shaft is turned to move the closing wedge to an opened position.

  • Patent number: 5675108
Abstract: A manual breechblock opening device that actuates a breechblock lever to open a wedge breechblock of a gun against an elastic return force includes a manual control member, a drivetrain and a holder. The manual control member is disposed within reach of an operator. The drivetrain includes a rotating output shaft coupled to the breechblock lever and a rotating input shaft coupled to the output shaft and coupleable to the manual control member. Actuating the manual control member rotates the drivetrain in a first rotational direction and causes the output shaft to engage the breechblock lever and to open the wedge breechblock. The blocking member is coupled to and disposed to prevent the rotation of the drivetrain in a second rotational direction that is opposite the first rotational direction.

  • Patent number: 5235770
Abstract: A striker device for striking a firearm cartridge, the cartridge comprising a case provided with a cap and the firearm including a bolt having a front face that is normally intended to be pressed against the cartridge case, a striking pin guided to move in translation in the bolt and including a tip for striking the cap of the cartridge, means for displacing the striking pin between a cocked position in which the striking pin is retracted into the bolt and a firing position in which the tip of the striking pin projects from the front face of the bolt to strike the cap of the cartridge, means for taking up clearance between the front face of the bolt and the cartridge, said means comprising a part having the striking pin passing axially therethrough and itself displaceable in translation relative to the bolt to occupy a firing position in which its front end projects from the front face of the bolt and bears against the cartridge case, the extent to which the tip of the firing pin projects relative to the fron
