On Aircraft Wing Patents (Class 89/37.19)
  • Patent number: 9718548
Abstract: A payload mount adapter assembly for use with an aircraft is disclosed. The payload mount adapter assembly includes, but is not limited to an upper section that is configured for mounting to the aircraft and a lower section that is configured to receive a payload. The lower section is releasably engaged with the upper section such that the lower section is substantially unadjustable with respect to the upper section when the lower section is in a fixed state and the lower section is substantially adjustable with respect to the upper section when the lower section is in a released state.

  • Patent number: 9688405
Abstract: A mounting system is provided including a center platform having a plurality of mounting lugs for mounting the center platform transversely extending at least partially through an aircraft cabin with a first end and second end of the center platform adjacent a respective first and second side opening of the aircraft cabin. A first support pylon may be removably coupleable to the first end of the center platform to extend outwardly from a first side of the aircraft. A second support pylon may be removably coupleable to the second end of the center platform to extend outwardly form a second side of the aircraft. A modular floor component may be removably coupleable relative to a longitudinal side of the center platform to provide a substantially planar load surface including a top portion of the modular floor component and a top surface of the center platform.

  • Patent number: 7207256
Abstract: A vehicular weapons platform (30) including a plurality of barrel assemblies (10), wherein each barrel assembly includes a barrel (11), a plurality of projectiles (14) axially disposed within the barrel for operative sealing engagement with the bore of the barrel (11) and discrete propellant charges (15) for propelling respective projectiles sequentially through the muzzle of the barrel; and at least one of said plurality of barrel assemblies (10) includes a barrel which also forms a structural member of the weapons platform. In one preferred form, the weapons platform takes the form of a small combat aerial vehicle (SCAV) (30), wherein the barrel assemblies (10) form the airframe. A method of constructing a weapons platform from the barrel assemblies is also described.

  • Patent number: 7178442
Abstract: The invention is a detachable hanger assembly for attaching a flying object to a launch rail on a launch platform. The detachable hanger assembly is attached to the flying object by one or more bolts and is adapted to slide in a slot in the launch rail when the flying object is launched. When the flying object is launched, the detachable hanger assembly slides in the slot until it impacts upon a stopper, which is fixedly located in the slot. The force of the impact of the hanger assembly with the stopper creates shearing forces that break one or more of the bolts thereby separating the main body section of the hanger assembly from the flying object.

  • Patent number: 6889592
Abstract: An adjustable fixture for mounting any of a plurality of weapon sets to an aircraft includes a bracket and lugs that are adjustably mechanically coupled to the bracket. The fixture may be adjusted once, to achieve proper orientation relative to the aircraft for boresighting, and may thereafter allow switching of weapon sets, either of the same type or of different types, without a need for re-boresighting. Quick-release fasteners, such as quick-release pins, may be used to couple the weapon sets to the fixture, to allow for easy and rapid change of weapon stores. The fixture may include one or more adapters used to allow various kinds of weapon sets to be coupled to the bracket.

  • Patent number: 6688209
Abstract: A munition rack comprises a center strongback with an aircraft attachment hookup structure thereon, a first munition deployment structure, including a first munition deployer, affixed to a first outboard end of the center strongback, and a second munition deployment structure, including a second munition deployer, affixed to a second outboard end of the center strongback. The center strongback, the first munition deployment structure, and the second munition deployment structure are preferably dimensioned such that the distance between a first munition deployer transverse midpoint and a second munition deployer transverse midpoint is at least about 19 inches. There is at least one additional munition deployment structure selectively affixed to the bottom of the center strongback at an inboard location intermediate between the first outboard end and the second outboard end.
