Plural Separately Controlled Vents Patents (Class 91/48)
  • Patent number: 7992490
Abstract: A by-pass control system for a meat injection system has a variable speed pump that transports fluid to a meat injection machine. Excess fluid is transported to a by-pass control valve. The valve has a moveable piston disposed therein that separates the valve into a fluid chamber and an air chamber. The piston moves back and forth based on the relationship between fluid pressure and air pressure. Sensors are disposed within or through the lid or the valve to sense the position of the piston. A controller is connected to the sensors and the variable speed pump and adjusts the speed of the pump based on the position of the piston.

  • Patent number: 7124815
Abstract: A tubing injector apparatus for use with variable diameter tubing. The apparatus comprises a pair of carriages which may be moved transversely and pivotally with respect to one another by actuating hydraulic actuator cylinders. A hydraulic control system uses relief valves to maintain a substantially constant pressure in the actuator cylinders when a tapered connector in the tubing passes between the carriages. A gripper chain in each carriage has gripper blocks to grippingly engage the tubing. A linear beam supports the gripper chain and has a plurality of resiliently biased segments therein to help maintain better contact with the tubing when the tapered connector passes through.

  • Patent number: 5875631
Abstract: A hydrostatic transmission has a pair of overcenter variable displacement pumps, each having a flow control element controlled by a double acting actuator to control direction and flow rate of the pump. Fluid pressure in first and second chambers of each actuator are equal at a neutral position of the transmission. A forward control valve controllably communicates the first chambers of both actuators to a tank through a first orifice to reduce the pressure in the first chambers to simultaneously move the flow control elements in a first direction for forward travel. A reverse control valve controllably communicates the second chambers of both actuators to the tank through a second orifice to reduce the pressure in the second chambers to simultaneously move the flow control elements in a second direction for reverse travel.

  • Patent number: 4883091
Abstract: A multi-port, self-regulating, proportional control valve preferably uses a load output feedback system to produce working fluid load output pressures that are proportional to pilot control fluid pressures. In some embodiments, the control valve is programmable and capable of different load output pressures selected either prior to, or during, operation. The control valve apparatus according to the present invention is capable of a center-off or neutral condition that requires substantially no pilot control flow when there in no control valve output flow.

  • Patent number: 4503752
Abstract: A hydraulic pumping unit is provided that is especially adapted for use for pumping oil from a well, and that provides for independent upstroke and downstroke speed control of the well sucker rod. The pumping unit includes a load sensing, pressure and flow compensated pump that is destroked under no load conditions, a pumping cylinder including a polished rod coupled to the sucker rod, and a unique hydraulic valving assembly that couples the hydraulic fluid pump with the pumping cylinder. The hydraulic valving assembly includes a cylinder control module for independent control of the rates at which the polished rod is raised and lowered, and a signal control module for indicating the upper and lower limits of polished rod travel within the pumping cylinder. The cylinder control module provides for soft turnaround of the polished rod, thereby guarding against stretching of the sucker rod and subsequent degradation of the unit's pumping capacity.

  • Patent number: 4404897
Abstract: Two fluid passages are connected through flow restrictors to a fluid supply. Downstream of the restrictors the fluid supply has a drooping pressure-load characteristic. Venting means for the fluid passages comprises vent openings therein downstream of the restrictors and variable position obstructor means cooperating with vent openings to vary venting and thereby vary fluid pressures in the fluid passages.Fluid conduits connect these pressure outputs to a double acting piston moving in a cylinder whose opposite ends are connected to the fluid conduits. The piston and cylinder form the responder of the system.A receiver is formed by a piston and cylinder or other fluidic motor remotely fluidically connected to the responder, the motor driving a load.A feedback means controlled by the position of the responder piston and/or the load varies pressure in the fluid conduits by variably venting same. Both rotary and linear types of transmitters and load feedback means and receivers may be used.

  • Patent number: 4354555
Abstract: An improvement in apparatus for lifting an agricultural implement carried by a tractor provides for automatic rapid level adjustment of the implement relative to the terrain under control of a valve system which comprises a regulator valve controlling inlet flow to the pump responsive to a comparator valve carried by the implement. A continuous throtted flow from the regulating valve to the comparator valve is maintained at constant pressure tending to open a valve in the comparator while a sensor or feeler contacting the ground serves to effect a greater or lesser opposing force. A servo valve is provided which effects a back pressure acting together with feeler actuation. An equilibrium position of the valve determines the level to which the implement is changed, holding it constant on level ground until the feeler is actuated by encountering a rise or fall in the terrain. The construction provides for varying the elevation of an implement by either raising it or lowering it to meet rise or fall of terrain.

  • Patent number: 4346729
Abstract: A temperature control system including a pushbutton controlled, pneumatically operated actuator for controlling a vehicle heating and air conditioning system is disclosed. A plurality of pushbutton operated valve assemblies (112) enables an operator to control the system by selectively communicating a vacuum source connected to each valve member to a given position within a vented air-piston chamber (72). A piston (74), slidably received in the chamber, is moved along the chamber by the differential pressure across the piston face until a seal member (76) located around the piston periphery blocks the orifice of the passageway (68) communicating with the vacuum source, thus substantially sealing off the chamber from the vacuum source and preventing further piston movement. The number of output positions of the actuator piston in one embodiment of the invention is equivalent to the number of pushbutton valves which communicate the vacuum source to the air chamber.

  • Patent number: 4345507
Abstract: A fluid flow control valve system to be used to control a hydraulic lifting mechanism used on elevators and the like. The valve system includes an inlet conduit from the pump and an inlet-outlet to and from a jack connected together by a conduit with a one-way valve operable in the direction from the pump to the jack, a first by-pass chamber connected to the pump side of the one-way valve and a second by-pass chamber connected to the jack side of said one-way valve, outlets to the pump sump from each by-pass chamber, and a movable gate control mechanism for controlling the exit of pressurized fluid from the first by-pass chamber or the second by-pass chamber through the outlets to the pump sump. Hydraulic fluid from the pump when the first chamber is sealed, passes through the one-way check valve. When the second chamber is also sealed, the fluid will provide pressure to a jack to lift a load. With the first chamber gate opened at least a portion or all of the fluid passes back to the sump.

  • Patent number: 4184514
Abstract: A valve system incorporating single failure protective logic. The system consists of a valve combination or composite valve which allows actuation or de-actuation of a device such as a hydraulic cylinder or other mechanism, integral with or separate from the valve assembly, by means of three independent input signals combined in a function commonly known as two-out-of-three logic. Using the input signals as independent and redundant actuation/de-actuation signals, a single signal failure, or failure of the corresponding valve or valve set, will neither prevent the desired action, nor cause the undesired action of the mechanism.

Venting means for the fluid passages comprises vent openings therein downstream of the restrictors and variable position obstructor means cooperating with vent openings to vary venting and thereby vary fluid pressures in the fluid passages. This forms a mechanical to fluidic translator. Pressures at the translator's outputs are a function of the obstructor's position. This translator forms the transmitter of a servo or remote control or indicator system.Fluid conduits connect these pressure outputs to a fluid to mechanical translator comprising a double acting piston moving a cylinder whose opposite ends are connected to the fluid conduits. The piston and cylinder form the responder of the system, which may be adjacent the mechanical to fluidic translator and form part of the transmitter.
