Abstract: The sliding ring (1) for a radial piston pump has an inner ring (2) and a coaxial outer ring (3) between which a spring/damping element (5) is arranged. The spring/damping element (5) is in one piece and comprises on both sides an annular rim bead (8). The rim beads rest at the side rim of the inner ring (2) against the latter's outer circumference and at the rim of the outer ring (3) against the latter's inner circumference. Provided between the rim beads (8) is a connecting structure (9) that is constituted, for example, by at least one further damping ring (10) that is connected via webs (11) to the rim beads (8). By way of a corresponding configuration of the spring/damping element (5), chambers (32) into which a liquid can be introduced can additionally be formed between the inner ring (2) and outer ring (3) so that the stiffness of the sliding ring (1) can be variably configured.

  • Patent number: 6446604
Abstract: The invention relates to a radial piston pump for high-pressure fuel supply in fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, in particular in a common rail injection system. The piston pump has a drive shaft which is eccentrically supported in a pump housing and on which a ring is slidingly supported. The ring cooperates with a plurality of pistons, disposed radially relative to the drive shaft in a respective cylinder chamber. The pistons are movable radially back and forth in the respective cylinder chamber by rotation of the drive shaft. To increase the efficiency of the engine, the cylinder chambers are filled with less fuel when demand drops. In this so-called partial element filling, in which a plate is retained in contact with a polygonal ring, increased wear and damage are prevented. The wear is brought about by a guide device which prevents rotation of the ring about its own axis.

Abstract: A radial piston machine, e.g., a radial piston pump, in which an eccentric, rotatable on a stationary axle, drives multiple radially arranged pistons via an external sliding ring. Since a pump of this type operates with intake regulation, the delivery chambers are only partially filled above a middle speed range. Therefore, pressure surges, which cause noises, arise upon the impact of the piston on the oil volumes to be pushed out. These pressure surges may be reduced if a flexible circlip is positioned between the external sliding ring and the eccentric. Such a circlip allows the piston to deflect slightly together with the external sliding ring at the beginning of the pressure stroke, so that pressure peaks are suppressed and the noises are reduced. The flexibility of the circlip is increased using openings, which are positioned along the central axis, i.e., in the plane of the piston axle.

  • Patent number: 5960699
Abstract: The invention relates to a hydraulic pump unit with an electric drive motor and a radial piston pump that is provided as a return feed pump for a motor vehicle for a slip-regulated, hydraulic brake system. To drive the pump pistons, the invention provides a rod-shaped eccentric element that is supported eccentrically with ball heads in a shaft end of a drive shaft of the drive motor and disposed on an opposite side of the pump pistons in a pump housing is supported so that the eccentric element can swivel around a solid angle. When the drive shaft is rotated, the eccentric element executes a movement on a surface of a cone so that the pump pistons resting against the eccentric element are driven in a reciprocating stroke motion. The invention has the advantage of a mechanically defined bearing support of the drive shaft and eccentric element so that the bearing of the eccentric element, which bearing is fixed to the housing, does not have to be exactly flush with the drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 5950522
Abstract: A rotary pump such as a rotary fuel injection pump comprises a pump body; a rotor rotatably supported by the pump body and responsive to mechanical pulses to pump a fluid; and a stator ring (208) supported by the pump body and having a ring of projections (209) arranged to deliver mechanical pulses to the rotor when the rotor rotates relative to the stator ring. The stator ring (208) has a vibrational mode which is induced by delivering the mechanical pulses to the rotor. The pump body supports the stator ring across an interface which is a complete annulus or a partial annulus. In order to reduce the transmission of vibration from the stator ring to the pump body, the interface and/or stator ring incorporate cavities at the antinodes of the vibrational mode of the stator ring.

  • Patent number: 5897302
Abstract: The invention is based on a reciprocating piston pump having two radial pistons disposed symmetrically to one another, which are drivable to a reciprocating motion by an eccentric disposed between them and are held in contact with the eccentric by a hoop spring that engages the pistons. For ease of installation, the invention proposes embodying the hoop spring as a bent wire part, with two open, hooklike eyelets on their ends, which ends are inserted into annular grooves of the pistons and enter into a snap connection with them in order to hold the pistons tightly against the eccentric.

  • Patent number: 5878648
Abstract: An adjustable radial piston machine (pump or motor) is described whose drive mechanism (10) has a comparatively compact structure and an especially good mechanical efficiency. The drive mechanism (10) has a bearing ring (19) which is arranged concentric to a rotor (11) and which can be swung or pivoted about a symmetry axis (Q,H) different from its rotation axis for adjustment of the radial piston machine. An adjusting device (22) for pivoting the bearing ring extends axially parallel to the bearing ring (19) and acts on a facing surface of the bearing ring (19). Working pistons (13) guided in the cylinders in the rotor perform two motion cycles per revolution of the rotor, which are equal, but in opposite directions, over respective 180.degree. angular intervals. Cylinders (12) on opposite sides of the rotor are acted on by identical pressures so that the forces on the rotor are balanced and the rotor rotates largely free of friction.

  • Patent number: 5865090
Abstract: The present invention relates to a piston pump, in particular to the arrangement of the bearing ring for supporting the pump piston on an eccentric. The pump bearing includes a bearing ring and a plurality of bearing needles. The peripheral surface of the eccentric is radially inwardly offset in relation to the peripheral surface of the shaft. The two stepped transitions provide stop surfaces for the bearing needles. The bearing ring is supported on an inner ring for a main bearing, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, directly or indirectly on the stepped transition between a second area and a third area in a blind-end bore. Further, an auxiliary bearing is provided with a bearing ring which is made of a material inhering a high degree of wear. Testing the electric motor, used to drive the piston pump, before the piston pump is assembled is thereby permitted.

  • Patent number: 5836234
Abstract: A single cam reciprocating linked piston type engine utilizes a swing-link linking mechanism to make two pistons arranged at an included angle slide alternately up and down, or utilizes a linking-rod to make two pistons arranged on an identical axis reciprocate in the same direction. Each roller mounted in the piston skirt nestles tightly on the curved surface of a cam mounted on a main shaft, so as to transform reciprocating motion of the pistons into rotation of the main shaft. The engine has eliminated an inner cam and the complicated piston mechanism as compared with a conventional double cam internal combustion engine. It features a simple and compact structure, its output torque is able to be raised twice as much, and a speed reducer matched with the engine is simple in structure. It can replace double cam engines and conventional crankshaft and connecting-rod type engines and is applicable for use as a motor in various fields.

  • Patent number: 5769611
Abstract: A plurality of plungers situated radially in a pump body, are sequentially actuated inwardly by a rotatably driven, eccentrically mounted actuating ring. A central valve housing is coaxially received within the body and includes a fuel inlet chamber and a fuel discharge chamber, which are closely axially aligned. The pump body closely engages the valve housing such that radially extending bores in the body and a portion of the valve housing between the inlet and discharge chambers, together define the pumping chambers. All pumping chambers are connected via short passages in the valve housing, to the common inlet chamber and the common outlet chamber. This configuration, by which all fuel passages and associated valves subject to the pumping pressure are within the central valve housing, not only minimizes the dead volume, but keeps all fuel flows confined within a radius that is smaller than the actuator ring sliding radius, i.e.

Abstract: The invention concerns a hydrostatic-mechanical gear for driving a mixed drum and, in particular, the drum of a concrete mixer vehicle. Cooling is provided for by the continuous removal of oil from a high pressure circuit, via a connecting pipe, and the constant feeding of the cooled oil, which has passed through an oil cooler, to the interior of a gear housing via a pipe. This pipe discharges into the interior of the gear housing immediately proximate a hydraulic motor. The oil then flows through the hydraulic motor, which is preferably a slow-speed radial piston motor, to reduce the noise generation of the hydraulic motor.
