  • Publication number: 20090211442
Abstract: In various implementations, various feed gas streams which include hydrogen and carbon monoxide may be processed for conversion to product streams. For example, the feed gas stream may be processed using the Fischer-Tropsch process or a methanol synthesis process. Unconverted hydrogen and carbon monoxide can be recycled at high recovery and/or inert components removed to prevent build-up in the recycle system by using an arrangement of pressure swing adsorption systems designed to recover impure product gas streams.

Abstract: Disclosed is an air purification device with oxygen-supplying function, in which air in an automobile is sucked by a vacuum pump and purified by a dust collector or an adsorbent such as activated carbon and zeolite, and oxygen is enriched in air to supply oxygen enriched air into the automobile. The air purification device enriches oxygen in air according to a VSA (vacuum swing adsorption) process using a difference between pressure in the adsorption bed and atmospheric pressure, in which nitrogen adsorbed into the adsorbent is released using the vacuum pump. The air purification device comprises an air filter for removing impurities from air sucked from an inside of the automobile by the vacuum pump, an adsorbent for adsorbing nitrogen from air passing through the air filter and passing oxygen, an oxygen tank for storing oxygen supplied from the adsorbent and releasing oxygen using a vacuum, and if necessary, an anion generator or a scent generator.

  • Patent number: 6551380
Abstract: A gas separation apparatus and process has a first pressure swing adsorption (PSA) unit (110) receiving feed gas (112), which comprises a first and a second component. First PSA unit (110) produces first product gas (114) pre-dominantly containing the first component, and first off gas (116) containing at least some of the first component and second component. Compressor (120) is coupled to first PSA unit (110) to compress first off gas (116) to form compressed off gas (126), which is passed downstream to absorber unit (130), which employs a solvent to remove at least part of the second component from compressed off gas (126), forming an enriched compressed off gas (136B). Second PSA unit (140) receives enriched compressed off gas (136B) and produces second product gas (142) which predominantly contains the first component and a second off gas that is sent to waste or reformer burner (150).

Abstract: An adsorption bed arrangement includes a plurality of adsorption elements, a housing, and a gasket member. Each of the adsorption elements has a first adsorptive media and a second adsorptive media contained within a respective element. The first and second adsorptive medias remove different contaminants from the incoming air stream. For example, the first adsorptive media removes acidic contaminants and the second adsorptive media removes basic contaminants. Each of the adsorption elements is selectively openable to provide access to the adsorptive medias. The housing defines an interior, a plurality of inlet openings, and a plurality of outlet openings. The adsorption elements are positioned within the housing interior and the housing is selectively openable to provide access to the adsorption elements. The gasket member is between the housing and the adsorption elements.
