Abstract: An air filtering device includes a tank, a treatment house and a fan. The treatment house includes a base body covering the tank and a dividing board positioned in the base body. The dividing board is configured to divide the treatment house into a first treatment room and a second treatment room. An air intake is defined in the first treatment room. An air outlet is defined in the second treatment room. A guiding end is formed in an end of the boarding end adjacent to the tank. The fan is positioned adjacent to and facing the air outlet.

Abstract: A high performance flatus gas filter assembly, and a body waste collection pouch with which it may be used, along with a method for making such an assembly, are disclosed. The assembly includes a filter pad having first and second layers of deodorizing filter media with an imperforate gas and odor barrier layer sandwiched therebetween for blocking the direct flow of gases between the opposing inner faces of the filter layers. An envelope of liquid and gas impermeable material defines a chamber for enclosing the pad. The envelope has walls with first and second openings communicating with central portions of the first and second filter layers, and defines a peripheral space about the pad to permit the outward flow of flatus gases from the peripheral edge surface of one of the filter layers inwardly into the peripheral edge surface of the other of the filter layers.
Abstract: A contactor/separator is formed from a vessel; an inlet for receiving a vapor/liquid mixture; an inlet for receiving a superheated vapor; a hub located within the vessel, the hub including a plurality of vanes for imparting a centrifugal motion to the vapor/liquid mixture or the superheated vapor; an outlet in a bottom of the vessel for removing liquid; and an outlet for removing vapor from the vessel. A method is also provided for heating and separating liquid and vapor from a hydrocarbon feedstock comprising introducing a hydrocarbon feedstock into a contactor/separator: introducing a superheated vapor into the contactor/separator such that it contacts and vaporizes a portion of the feedstock within the contactor/separator; separating unvaporized feedstock from vaporized feedstock in the contactor/separator; removing the vaporized feedstock and the superheated vapor through a first outlet; and removing the unvaporized feedstock through a second outlet.

Abstract: A device, system and methods related to the same are provided for the treatment of exhaust gases from internal combustion engines. An exhaust treatment device is provided comprising a chamber containing a liquid bath through which exhaust gases are directed for removing exhaust products from the exhaust gas. A thermal reducer is provided for reducing the temperature of the exhaust gas prior to entry into the exhaust gas treatment device, as desired. Further provided are related methods for removing carbon monoxide from exhaust gas, liquid hydrocarbon solutions for use as the liquid bath in the exhaust gas treatment device, and methods for preparing such liquid hydrocarbon bath solutions.

Abstract: A fluidized spray vessel. A vessel design is provided for recovering heat from gaseous heat streams. The vessel utilizes a semi-fluidized bed for obtaining desirable liquid/vapor contact times. A spray section is provided in which liquid is sprayed through nozzles designed to provide a mean droplet size having a terminal velocity of from about sixty percent to about ninety five percent of the superficial upward gas velocity. These spray tower design criteria enhance spray tower performance, and thus enables more efficient heat recovery to be practiced, particularly in systems where relatively low grade heat sources are encountered.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for treating flue gas by injection of an aqueous liquid in the form of droplets and subsequent separation thereof are described. In the treatment, the flue gas and droplets are conducted towards a baffle means, on which droplets are deposited and form a liquid film, and the flue gas is made to pass through the liquid film. The apparatus comprises a quencher having an inlet for the flue gas, nozzles for injecting an aqueous liquid in the form of droplets into the flue gas, and an outlet for the flue gas. The apparatus is characterized in that a baffle means is arranged in the path of flow in the flue gas for depositing liquid droplets and forming a liquid film, and that deflection means are arranged under the baffle means.
