Abstract: Method, pad and assembly of pad and holder and beverage preparation, apparatus (1) for providing a beverage provided with a fine bubble froth layer or a beverage at least virtually without the fine bubble froth layer with the aid of a pad (6) with a covering (26) filled with at least a product (28) to be extracted and/or to be dissolved. The method comprises selecting using the pad (6) in a first (A) or a second (B) condition of use, and using the pad (6) according to the selection the pad (6) in the first condition of use (A) or in the second condition of use (B). In the first condition of use (A), a fine bubble froth layer is obtained on the beverage. In the second condition of use (B), a beverage is obtained which is at least virtually free of such a fine bubble froth layer.

Abstract: A device for the preparation of a frothy liquid for human consumption includes a jet forming nozzle and an inlet of a liquid flow deflecting member arranged on opposed locations with respect to a collision chamber. The jet forming emits a traversing liquid jet that traverses the collision chamber along a path and enters the inlet and passes through to the outlet of the liquid flow deflecting member. The outlet is arranged in communication with the collision chamber and is aimed at the path of the liquid jet between the jet forming nozzle and the inlet, so that in use the liquid jet emerging from the outlet collides with the traversing liquid jet between the jet forming nozzle and the inlet of the liquid flow deflecting member. The collision causes air to be mixed with the liquid thereby generating frothed liquid.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for an enhanced beverage dispenser. In preferred embodiments, the beverage dispenser includes: (a) a first flow path in which a first amount of a powder is mixed with water proximal a first whipping chamber to form a first supply of beverage; (b) a second flow path in which a second amount of the same powder is mixed with water proximal a second whipping chamber to form a second supply of the same beverage; and (c) dispensing means positioned downstream of both whipping chambers at which the first and second supplies of beverage converge to provide a high dispensing flow rate. In this regard, a lower flow rate is provided for whipping to inhibit over-foaming of the beverage, while a higher dispensing flow rate is provided for quick-filling of a large-volume beverage container.

Abstract: A device for aerating wine in a bottle has an elongated, upright conduit with one end region immersed in the wine, and an opposite end region exposed to the atmosphere. A rotary shaft is located within, and extends along, the conduit. A wine blade is mounted on the shaft for drawing the wine as a wine flow into the one end region in an upward direction toward the opposite end region of the conduit upon rotation of the shaft. An air blade is preferably mounted on the shaft for causing the air to move as an air stream into the opposite end region in a downward direction toward the one end region of the conduit upon rotation of the shaft. A drive rotates the shaft, the wine blades and the air blades to propel the wine flow and the air stream against each other in a mutually countercurrent relationship and to commingle the wine flow and the air stream inside the bottle.
