Abstract: Hair styling accessories including a puffing member specially adapted for shaping hair into a puffed condition. Also included is a specially shaped barrette which is adapted for cooperative combination with the puffing member to position and retain the puffing member in a desired location as well as to provide for separating and manipulating hair in strands as may be desired for a variety of coiffures. The puffing member includes a main section having generally symmetrically convex front and back surfaces to present a puffed appearance. Essentially centrally positioned within the main section there is disposed a thin sheet of malleable or deformable material (e.g., 0.006 inch thick tin foil such as is used for fins in air conditioners) it adapted for manipulation so that the shape of the main section can be altered within a range suitable for a variety of hair styling applications.
Abstract: A pony-tail hair clasp comprising a lower component having a tip end, a base end, an intermediate location therebetween, a U-shaped lower jaw extended between the tip end and the intermediate location, a pair of spaced lower teeth projected upwards from the lower jaw and defining a groove therebetween, and a lower handle extended from the second intermediate location to the base end; an upper component having a tip end, a base end, an intermediate location therebetween, a U-shaped upper jaw extended between the tip end and the intermediate location, an upper tooth projected downwards from the upper jaw and alignable with the groove, and a handle extended from the second intermediate location to the base end; a first coupling mechanism for hingably coupling the intermediate locations of the components together such that their jaws define a mouth and their handles are opposed and clenchable; and a second coupling mechanism for removably coupling the tip ends of the components together.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming decorative hair bows includes the steps of providing an apparatus including a longitudinally extended hair bow frame having top and bottom surfaces and a barrette clip mounted on the bottom surface of the frame, the frame including a plurality of openings extending between the top and bottom surfaces. The method further includes providing an elongated strip of decorative material and extending a portion of the strip of decorative material through one of the openings in the frame such that a loop of decorative material is formed extending out of an opening above the top surface of the frame. This step is then repeated using different openings and different portions of the strip of decorative material until a plurality of upwardly extending loops of the decorative material are formed extending from a plurality of openings on the frame of the apparatus thus forming a decorative hair bow.
