The payment reminder may request payment of a vehicle loan associated with a registered combination of a vehicle identification number and an occupant identifier associated with the vehicle loan. The payment reminder application may verify appropriate vehicle occupants are available to receive the payment reminder, and may deliver the received payment reminder to the appropriate vehicle occupants at an appropriate time for occupant safety and privacy. The payment reminder application may also provide other types of reminders or messages targeted to the vehicle occupants.

Abstract: A business method and system for encouraging the acquisition of a vehicle that features an offer to make a plurality of periodic payments of at least two types in the event that a predetermined reduction of income event occurs within a predetermined time. One of these payment types is directly related to the acquisition of the vehicle. A second payment type is designed to enhance the financial security of the consumer in combination with the first payment type in a way that will provide substantial value to the consumer and instill positive consumer confidence. In other words, by acquiring a vehicle, such as by purchase or lease, the consumer will be in a more secure financial condition than the consumer would otherwise be if the vehicle were not acquired. Abstract: Techniques for portable devices functioning as an electronic purse (e-purse) are disclosed. According to one aspect of the invention, a mechanism is provided to enable a portable device to conduct transactions over an open network with a payment server without compromising security. In one embodiment, a device is loaded with an e-purse manager. The e-purse manager is configured to manage various transactions and functions as a mechanism to access an emulator therein. The transactions may be conducted over a wired network or a wireless network. A three-tier security model is contemplated to support the security of the transactions from the e-purse. The three-tier security model includes a physical security, an e-purse security and a card manager security, concentrically encapsulating one with another. Security keys (either symmetric or asymmetric) are personalized within the three-tier security model.

Abstract: A system, method and apparatus for providing a global service for securely storing deposit instructions is described. The service provides payment processing services with a central location to translate payee information into a revocable d-token that represents the payee deposit instructions. A second service allows qualified banking institutions to convert the d-token into deposit instructions to effectuate a funds transfer.
