Abstract: The present invention relates to a multipurpose gardening tool for gardens, farms, landscapes and the like. The gardening tool features a handle, a curved neck and a metal blade. The neck and the handle can be integrally-attached or removably-attached as per the desire of a user. The neck includes a bend in a substantially C-shape, or arc shape that downwardly curves away from the handle. The metal blade is attached to the neck using a pair of metal pins or fasteners wherein the metal blade can be used for a variety of purposes like cultivating, seeding, planting, preparing seed beds, cultivating in between and around plants, digging up weeds and harvesting crops. The curved neck portion enables a user to remove weeds without inadvertently destroying the surrounding plants.

Abstract: Operations of an agricultural machine can be controlled based at least in part on a determination of whether the agricultural machine is entering/exiting a coverage area or a non-coverage area. In a non-coverage area, guidance of the agricultural machine can be based at least in part on detection by a row sensor of the agricultural machine of a presence of crops adjacent to the agricultural machine. In a coverage area, guidance of the agricultural machine can be primarily based on other received information, such as information from a global positioning system. Further, identification of an approaching coverage area and/or non-coverage area can assist in determining whether to activate or deactivate a subsystem(s) of the agricultural machine that performs an agricultural operation(s). Abstract: Methods and system for minimizing soil compaction relating to operations performed by agricultural machines. The agricultural machines can be guided so that at least one engagement body travels along an existing track path that was established by a prior travel of the same or different agricultural machine. Further, travel plans can determine the sequence in which the agricultural machine(s) travel in areas in the field so that travel on the track path(s) can be initiated in drier regions in the field. Operation of agricultural machines can also be adjusted to minimize deviations of other agricultural machines from existing track paths. For example, a windrower can operate a diverter to deposit a windrow at an offset location, and with a non-linear pattern, that may limit a baler from deviating from an existing track path while collecting crop material from the windrow, while also assisting in forming uniformly shaped crop bales.

A transponder tag is placed on each nozzle of the nozzle body and includes specific information regarding characteristics of the respective nozzle. A reader assembly emits electromagnetic waves through an antenna to receive information from a particular transponder tag. The transponder tag receives the electromagnetic waves and generates a signal that includes the specific information. Each nozzle is movable into an active position by rotation of a nozzle turret. The reader assembly is located such that a transponder tag of a nozzle enters communication range when the nozzle is placed in the active position. A controller receives the specific information and identifies characteristics of the nozzle in the active position.

Abstract: This invention describes a new method to generate cereal crop seed. The process involves the delivery of pollen of the male parent at will, as available either in a preserved pollen bank, or using real-time collection from male plants as they become available. Desired pollen is delivered to fertile females during the period when viable pollen from the females and locally proximal unrelated plants is not being released. The delivered male pollen is in such amounts and fortuitously timed that it preferentially pollinates the females. Such fortuitous timing may involve the intentional application of pollen to females a day or two prior to female parent pollen becoming viable, and/or during several periods wherein female parent pollen and/or other proximal plant pollen is not being shed.
