Abstract: An apparatus and a method is provided for continuously drying bulk goods, in particular wood fibers and/or wood chips, in a dryer, wherein the drying vapors are led to a dryer circuit, in which the drying vapors are indirectly heated via a heat-exchanger and are conducted to the dryer again.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for conveying combustion residues (6) along a conveying path out of a combustion chamber (1) in a conveying device (2), comprising the following steps: a) conveying the combustion residues (6) out of the combustion chamber (1) by means of a conveying device (2) which has at least one housing (4); b) producing a first pressure level (12) in the housing (4); c) additionally treating the combustion residues (6) in a treatment device (5) arranged in the conveying path; d) producing a second pressure level (13) in the conveying direction (7) of the combustion residues (6) downstream of the treatment device (5) by introducing a fluid (14) in order to form a pressure gradient.
Abstract: In a low NOx boiler of the present invention, a high-temperature reductive combustion zone is provided to an upper portion of a rectangular combustion chamber, and a second-step combustion zone is provided to a middle stage of the combustion chamber. A wall provided below the second-step combustion zone is tapered to narrow the combustion chamber, with a taper angle of approximately 35° or so, relative to a vertical line. An ash discharge port is provided to a furnace bottom portion, and a gas outlet port communicated with a rear pass water wall is provided to a lower side face of the second-step combustion zone. This rear pass water wall is connected with a further post-treatment step, via a super-heater tube and an economizer.
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of operating a solid fuel fired boiler comprising introducing a solid fuel and an iron-bearing material into the boiler. The solid fuel is at least partially combusted in the boiler to produce an ash slag, wherein the ash fusion temperature characteristics (i.e., one or more of the IDT, ST, HT, and FT) of the ash slag are different than the ash fusion temperature characteristics of the ash slag that would result on combustion of the solid fuel alone. The method of the present invention is particularly applicable to slag tap boilers, including cyclone-type boilers. These boilers are, typically, designed to operate with a liquid ash slag.
