Abstract: An agricultural device associated with reduced tillage techniques in a field includes a frame and a separator supported by the frame. The separator is configured to form a strip of exposed soil in residual plant matter in the field. A crimping device associated with the separator is configured to at least partially crush stems of residual plant matter while maintaining the strip.
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a wrist curl machine fabricated to isolate the wrist muscle and lower forearm muscle for development to the exclusion of all others and is defined by three hand grip areas, two sprockets associated with these three hand grip areas and chain elements operatively connected with these sprockets which in turn traverse through weights and a counter balance system whereby the counter balance system negates the weight of the elements associated with the structure and the variable weights themselves provide the total resistance to the work done by the wrist or the forearm of the exerciser. The framework is associated with and supports the hand grip, sprocket, chain, counter balance, and weight mechanism so that the machine can be used when the exerciser is erect.
Abstract: An array of several like dimensionally stable readily manufactured diking apparatuses each of which operates in a furrow automatically produces a series of dams of uniform size at regular intervals of travel by repeatedly alternating positions one of a pair of sets of (a) a forwardly disposed digging and earth gathering element and (b) a rearwardly disposed slanted support shoe that is narrower than the earth gathering element forwardly thereof, the support shoe also providing a grading action on the furrow and automatically aligning the earth gathering element.
Abstract: A damming implement for depositing a series of earthen dams across a furrow to provide a line of catch or ponding basins which inhibit run-off of water includes a wheel structure having radially opposed blades oriented transversely to a line of draft for scraping a ground surface and with arcuate arms extending therefrom partly around the circumference of the wheel structure and having respective radially opposed end portions. The wheel structure is mounted in a yoke connected by a hitch to a tool bar pulled behind a tractor. A latch mounted on the yoke alternately engages a shock absorbing pad on one of the end portions of the wheel structure to prevent rotation thereof and scrape one of the blades along the ground surface for accumulating an earthen dam in front of the blade.
Abstract: A dammer having three legs with a foot on the end of each leg is towed behind agricultural cultivating implements. Each foot slides flat against the earth until the weight of the soil causes the dammer to rotate, at which time the dammer rotates one-third of a revolution dumping one dam and continuing to form another.
