Abstract: A sheet supplying apparatus, which is capable of winding a sheet tightly, includes a driving unit configured to cause a roll including a wound consecutive sheet to rotate in a first direction for feeding the sheet or a second direction opposite to the first direction, a sensor that detects a leading end portion of the sheet separated from an outer circumferential surface of the roll, and a contact body that presses the outer circumferential surface. Before the sheet is fed, in a state in which the contact body presses the outer circumferential surface, the driving unit causes the roll to continuously rotate in the second direction until a detection cycle of the leading end portion by the sensor is less than a predetermined value.
Abstract: A roll sheet, in which a continuous sheet is wound in a roll form, is caused to rotate in a forward direction to supply the sheet to a printing unit. First and second sensors are arranged at positions facing an outer circumferential surface of the roll sheet and deviated in an axis line direction of the roll sheet. Outputs of the first and second sensors are changed in accordance with a distance to a sheet of the roll sheet. A rotation direction of the roll sheet is switched from a forward direction to a reverse direction on the basis of the outputs of the first and second sensors while the roll sheet is being rotated in the reverse direction.
Abstract: A flexible web guiding apparatus including; a turnaround roller; a pinch roller positioned in driving engagement with said turnaround roller and defining a nip therebetween; and a web guide for accurately directing an end of the web into the nip defined by the turnaround roller and the pinch roller to cause the web to move between the pinch roller and the turnaround roller without stubbing against either roller. The accuracy of the web guide is achieved by wear plates that are affixed to the web guide and spaced apart to permit the web to move therebetween. The wear plates are maintained in friction contact with the turnaround roller for controllably maintaining the spacing between the web guide and the turnaround roller.
Abstract: A label separator apparatus has a label separating member for separating labels one by one from a long and narrow label carrying paper, on which the labels are adhered, by acutely turning the carrying paper toward a no-label-adhered side thereof while the carrying paper is moved in its longitudinal direction. The label separator apparatus further has a label-rising restrictor located above the label being separated form the paper which contacts a rear end portion of the label which is being separated while the label rises together with the paper from the separating member, so that the label is prevented from being completely separated from the paper.
Abstract: A transport or conveyor belt provided with prongs and extending around two rollers serves to convey a recording medium to and away from a platen or the like. To facilitate insertion of the starting portion of the recording medium which, for example, may be constituted by continuous forms or form sets the transport belt including the carrier therefor can be pivoted into such a position that the recording medium can be placed with its marginal perforations on the prongs of a threading or insertion roller and into an open guide gap.
