Abstract: A rotary atomizer is disclosed for the even distribution of a treatment fluid within a treatment chamber. The treatment fluid is delivered onto a rotating disk atomizer through multiple outlet ports. Fluid passages provide each outlet port with an even flow of treatment fluid at generally the same time and rate. This even and simultaneous flow of treatment fluid results in a more even distribution of treatment fluid on the seed that flows through the treatment chamber throughout the treatment cycle.

Abstract: One non-propelled fluid resident in a reservoir is sucked into the flow path of a further fluid in transit propelled by fluid pressure. This is achieved by means of inducing a spiral cyclone path flow pattern in the propelled fluid to create a converging vortex with a turbulent mixing zone into a linear output transit line. The pressure at the vortex zone is reduced significantly from atmospheric to thereby produce a strong suction propellant force bringing the stored fluid into the turbulence mixing zone. The stored fluid is introduced axially in line with the cyclone axis and linear output transit line which receives thoroughly mixed fluids in substantially constant proportions over significant changes in pressure of the propelled fluid. Thus, the mixer device is ideal for dispensing insectides with a garden hose, detergents into a dishwasher, chlorine into a swimming pool, etc.

Abstract: A dishwasher has a tub, dish rack and transparent lid cover with a centrally disposed turbine hydraulically actuated motor on the bottom of the tub. The motor has internal piping to lead water to a spray arm rotated by the turbine past a turbulence chamber serving to suck a charge of detergent into the water flow stream which when spent permits a water rinse. A rack has removable dish support clip members fixed onto rods or webs so that the only moving part is the turbine rotor and attached spray arm.

  • Patent number: 4272018
Abstract: A portable apparatus for spraying refractory material on the interior surface of refractory bodies having a fixed top element and a rotating bottom element. A downwardly depending adjustable spray nozzle which is angularly positionable to direct refractory material through a 90.degree. arc bounded by a line running through the base of the nozzle perpendicular to the vertical axis of the apparatus and the vertical axis of the apparatus is mounted on the bottom element. In operation, the apparatus is moved through the length of the vessel while the bottom element is rotated and the angular position of the spray nozzle is adjusted to evenly spray refractory material on the interior surfaces of the vessel. Through rotation and adjustment, the spray may be downwardly and/or outwardly directed anywhere in a hemisphere bounded by a plane running through the base of the nozzle perpendicular to the vertical axis of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4224108
Abstract: A decoking apparatus suitable for use on a reaction vessel for the thermal cracking of heavy petroleum oils the apparatus essentially including a rotatable main injection pipe to be disposed in the reaction vessel and having a multitude of jet nozzles along its length, and a second or auxiliary injection pipe positioned in the proximity of the main injection pipe to inject a scrubbing liquid over the outer peripheral walls of the main injection pipe to prevent deposition of coke. The main and auxiliary injection pipes are both supplied with heavy petroleum oil to remove the coke deposition from the reactor wall by the heavy petroleum oil jets from the main injection pipe while wetting the exterior of the main pipe with the heavy petroleum oil injected by the auxiliary injection pipe.

  • Patent number: 4211367
Abstract: A housing having an interior chamber with an inlet and outlet thereto is suspended by a crane within a ladle or furnace having an interior refractory surface to be relined. A feed conduit for conveying dry refractory material entrained in an air stream extends through the inlet into the interior chamber. A nozzle assembly having a pair of oppositely positioned spray nozzles is rotatably supported in the outlet of the housing. A conduit of the nozzle assembly is rotatably connected at one end by a coupling to the feed conduit within the housing and communicates with the spray nozzles. Each of the spray nozzles includes a water ring that receives a wetting agent, such as water, from a supply conduit that is connected by a swivel assembly to the nozzles to permit rotation of the nozzles relative to the supply conduit. Each water ring directs the water into mixture with the air entrained dry refractory material flowing through the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 4014502
Abstract: Projectable sprinklers which rise automatically from the ground when water is supplied under pressure to the sprinklers, sprinkler heads, stationary sprinklers employing the sprinkler head of the present invention for use on the surface of the ground, and a lid apparatus for increasing the area wetted by a sprinkler head. The projectable sprinklers include a generally cylindrical housing closed at the bottom and sunken in the ground, a projectable float which floats upward within the housing when water is supplied under pressure to the sprinkler, and a sprinkler head including a rotating nozzle or nozzles attached to the top of the float. In one embodiment, the projectable sprinkler contains means for spreading chemicals over the surface of the ground. The sprinkler heads include means for pumping solutions or liquid mixtures of chemicals through the nozzle or nozzles of the sprinkler head, and may be used in a stationary or projectable sprinkler system.

  • Patent number: 3989167
Abstract: A solid-liquid dispenser employing components driven by liquid flow which in addition to the flow itself adjacent tube openings in the principal flow line provide a mechanically induced flow into and out of a container for the solid material for effectively producing the desired mixture on the outlet side of the dispenser. The flow activating the mechanical components which produce the improved mixture is located on the outlet side of the device and is intentionally directed upwardly against gravity which, it is believed, in itself is further instrumental in improving the uniformity of the final mixture.
