Abstract: A multiple pivoted lathe chuck jaw assembly utilizes a plurality of baseplates each having one or more sub-jaws pivotably attached thereto. Each baseplate is configured for attachment to, or is part of, the radially movable elements of a lathe chuck. Further, each baseplate has two pivotably attached sub-jaws. Each sub-jaw has two compression and two expansion workpiece gripping surfaces extending generally outwards from the front face of the baseplate: a first tier compression gripping surface, a second tier compression gripping surface, a first tier expansion gripping surface, and a second tier expansion gripping surface. The gripping surfaces each approximate a curved shape that matches the shape of a circle of a given radius allowing the sub-jaws to pivot and self-align to the workpiece surface for maximum surface contact and gripping force. Force-directed serrations can provide additional holding force toward the face of the chuck.
Abstract: A system pendulum apparatus (13) is provided for a chuck and a method is provided for the clamping of workpieces with a pendulum element (16) and a basal element (30). An axially swivelable connection is provided between the pendulum element and the basal element by way of an element connection device. A swivel range a of the pendulum element can be restricted by a restriction device (39), and the pendulum element can be returned by a return device to a central position of the swivel range. The pendulum element can be fixed within the swivel range by a fixing device (23). The basal element can be joined by a joining device to one jaw of a chuck (10). The pendulum element has a clamping device with two exchangeable clamping elements (20), which are displaceable and fixable.
Abstract: A tool holder comprising a body which has a spindle side for fastening the tool holder to a spindle of a machine tool and a tool side for accommodating a tool and comprising a lubricating media passage from the spindle side to the tool side contains a lubricating media bush adjustable in the axial direction in the body, said lubricating media bush opening out on the tool side of the body, wherein a guide for the lubricating media bush is provided in the body, said guide containing a fitting section in which the lubricating media bush is adjustably guided, wherein a seal is provided which seals the lubricating media bush relative to the body.
Abstract: A safe and quick release device for a tool adapter includes a main body and a combination head. The main body has its front end axially bored with a combination groove with an open end. The combination groove has its opposite sides respectively bored with at least one position-limiting hole having its opposite ends respectively and annularly formed with a first position-limiting portion and a second position-limiting portion. A spherical position-limiting member is slidably disposed in the position-limiting hole and restrictedly positioned therein by the first and the second position-limiting portion. Thus, the position-limiting member is ready made, needless to be especially processed, can easily be in stalled for facilitating assembly and disassembly of the combination head, reducing processing cost.
Abstract: A clamping device for fixing a machined part to a processing axis in a machine tool including the processing axis, a clamping head which is rotatable thereabout and with clamping elements floatably arranged thereon.
Abstract: A method for mechanical machining, in particular for drilling and turning wheels of light alloy, comprising a step of centring and locking the wheel to be machined prior to the steps of drilling and turning the wheel.
Abstract: A machine tool arbor for holding a rotating machine part or workpiece is fitted with an actuator member at a back or distal end of an arbor main body for tool-less chucking and unchucking of a machine part or workpiece at a front or proximate end of the arbor main body. An actuator ring or knob is mounted at the back end of the arbor main body which, when rotated in one direction, causes an pusher member (collet pusher part, hydraulic piston) to move in such a manner as to displace a chuck member (inclined collet, flex collet, expansion ring) and release the machine part or workpiece that is chucked. When rotated in the opposite direction, the actuator knob causes the actuator member to move in an opposite manner as to fix the chuck member in a position to firmly hold the machine part or workpiece to be chucked.
Abstract: Actuator levers, collets and collet tools for use in process control devices are disclosed. An example apparatus includes an actuator lever, a collet coupled to the actuator lever, and a collet tool. In the example apparatus, the collet tool is removably coupled to at least one of the lever or the collet, and the collet tool applies a force to at least one of the actuator lever, the collet, a valve shaft, or an intervening structure to couple or decouple the collet to or from the lever.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided, for clamping a fiber placement tool to a fiber placement machine, along a rotational axis of the fiber placement machine, through use of a clamping apparatus having a plurality of drive lugs extending axially from the machine, and having three intersecting faying surfaces thereof which mate simultaneously in substantially intimate contact with three corresponding intersecting faying surfaces of a plurality of drive lug receptacles extending axially from the tool. Pairs of movable tines, disposed on opposite sides of each drive lug, pull the drive lugs into intimate contact with the drive lug receptacles. Master fixtures are used for setting the drive lugs and lug receptacles with respect to corresponding ones of the other, to achieve a desired intimate fit between faying surfaces thereof.
Abstract: A chuck assembly comprises a housing defining a longitudinal axis and having a first end. A plurality of pins extend substantially parallel with the axis from the first end. The plurality of pins is located at a first radius relative to the axis. At least one of the pins is operable to move from the first radius to a second radius, relative to the axis. The chuck assembly also includes a means for moving at least one pin between the first radius and the second radius. A prime mover provides the necessary drive to the means for moving. The chuck assembly may be used in combination with various other components to form combinations or systems.
Abstract: A method for producing a seamless metallic belt without a welded line and capable of being easily produced in high accuracy. A seamless belt material 21 having a defined length as a whole is placed on a core 11 and is held in a stretching state on the core 11 thermally expanded by heating, and further, in the above state, an outer circumference of the belt material 21 is cut to a predetermined thickness. The seamless metallic belt 20 is obtained by removing after the core 11 is cooled.
