Abstract: A chassis for a vehicle has a locally narrower portion within which is mounted a wheel, and a rigid member extending from the chassis toward the quiescent position of the wheel and ending at a point which is spaced radially from the outer profile and located axially within the thickness of the wheel. Under an impact, the wheel itself will be crushed against the rigid member, absorbing some of the impact energy. The impact energy can also be transmitted via the rigid member to the remainder of the chassis, providing a load path to major mass concentrations elsewhere in the vehicle and allowing energy to be dissipated by the deformation of other structures elsewhere. This can then limit frontal damage to the vehicle and hence reduce the risk of intrusions into the passenger cell. The rigid member can be a column extending towards the wheel, and can end with a flat plate that is positioned tangentially to a local portion of the outer profile.
Abstract: A pushing device that can be attached to a road paver or feeder vehicle. The pushing device is attachable to a chassis component of the road paver or the feeder vehicle and comprises a pushing unit that is attached in a movable manner to the chassis component by means of at least a spring-absorber unit. The pushing unit can be displaced relative to the chassis component in a first direction and a second direction, whereby the spring-absorber unit has a greater spring rate during a movement of the pushing unit in the first direction than in the second direction.

Abstract: Disclosed is a vehicle bumper which is capable of exerting an excellent shock-absorber against an external impact. The vehicle bumper of the present invention includes: a plurality of cushion tubes installed in the interior of a bumper casing and each having a hub wheel mounted in series on a horizontal axis; the horizontal axis adapted to be inserted through a rectangular hole formed on each front surfaces of a plurality of projection boards projected from a vehicle frame, to thereby have a predetermined distance on the rectangular hole; an axial rod adapted to be assembled on the both ends of the horizontal axis to thereby couple the plurality of cushion tubes in a horizontal state; and a tube frame adapted to be installed on the rear portion of the plurality of cushion tubes, for supporting each cushion tube.
Abstract: A safety bumper device incorporating a plurality of rotative bearing members that rotate to deflect the oblique forces of impact and absorb some of the head-on forces of impact. Two different rotative bearing members are shown. The bearing members are covered by a breakaway shield that helps to reduce aerodynamic drag. Upon impact, the breakaway shield gives way, exposing the faces of the bearing members so that the rotation of the bearings can deflect the oblique forces of impact.
Abstract: An adjustable bumper for mounting in a horizontally oriented non-round recess of a vehicle mount receiver so as to facilitate the pushing of one vehicle with another. The bumper has a straight leg adapter portion for engaging with the mount receiver, a cross-bar portion secured at a right angle to the adapter, and an elongate cylindrical roller held within the cross-bar portion between two laterally extended end arms. The adapter portion includes positioning apertures that allow the distance between the roller and the vehicle to be adjusted and the cross-bar portion has similar positioning apertures that allow the height of the roller to be adjusted.
Abstract: A vehicle bumper ram guard assemblies for wheeled vehicles which are used to push other vehicles or objects. Each ram guard assembly comprising an upright elongate ram cylinder made of impact absorbent material and rotatably mounted on a U bracket which is in turn secured to the pushing vehicle's structure. Preferably the ram cylinder apart from being rotatable is also vertically movable so as to dissipate and minimize frictional forces on the object being pushed. A non-abrasive cover may cover the ram cylinder to further minimize frictional forces and consequent damage to the object being pushed.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a protective roller device for attachment to various kinds of vehicles for prevention of injuries to persons or damages to objects encountered in traffic accidents when persons may stumble or objects may fall under the area of the wheel of the vehicle. The device comprises a set of vertical and parallel arranged protective rollers to be fixed on the car body at a location proximate to the car wheels. The said protective rollers consists of a center shaft and an elastomeric buffer component sheathed around the said shaft for free rotate thereabout. When equipped with said protective roller devices, the car is able to gently push the persons or objects encountered out of the dangerous wheel area and to prevent injuries or damages.
Abstract: A vehicle pushing bumper having a resilient roller rotatably mounted on a bracket secured to the front bumper of a motor vehicle. The spin of the roller, together with its resilient construction, prevent a drag on and damage to a vehicle being pushed by the vehicle provided with the pushing bumper. Usually, a pair of pushing bumpers will be disposed in symmetrical relation on the front bumper of a vehicle for assuring continuous contact between at least one of the pushing bumpers and the vehicle being pushed.
