Patent number: 6105270Abstract: A device is provided for positioning single bakery products, supplied by dropping, in recesses of a tin. At least one centering recess is disposed above the tin, which is formed by bringing together two facing half-shells. Structure for moving the half-shells away from each other synchronizes the drop of the bakery products with the advancing tin. Excess bakery products can be expelled from the centering recess into adjacent centering recesses, with the centering recesses forming an alignment corresponding to the at least one row of receiving recesses.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 1998Date of Patent: August 22, 2000Assignee: Barilla Alimentare S.p.A.Inventors: Daniele Capetta, Antonio Chierici, Enrico Schiaretti

Patent number: 5992035Abstract: An ornamental cutting/serving measuring board usable as various kitchen utensils, such as a cheese cutting board, a teapot board, a noodle gauge, a standing party tray and the like, a surface of a ceramic board body is coated with an ornamental glaze layer. A hanger portion is formed in an upper portion of the ceramic board body. The ceramic board body has a plurality of through-holes of different sizes. A hole edge of each through-hole is covered with the ornamental glaze layer for comfort and safety.Type: GrantFiled: October 22, 1997Date of Patent: November 30, 1999Assignee: Meiko Toki Co., Ltd.Inventor: Yoshiji Otsu

Patent number: 5749149Abstract: This invention relates to a quilt graphing system that enables a quilter to custom design quilts and appliques. The quilt designing system includes at least one transparent quilt graphing grid and a template. The grid has a plurality of uniform squares with dimensional markings (dots and dashes) on all four sides of each square in the grid. The dimensional markings divide each side of the square into thirds and quarters. So marked, the quilt graphing grid enables the quilt maker to graph in straight lines, extending between the dimensional markings, artwork beneath the transparent grit or artwork graphed directly on the grid. The template is specially designed for use by the quilt maker in marking each square of fabric to correspond with the shape of a specific portion of the selected design, and for cutting the squares of fabric with seams for piecing together the fabric squares to form the selected design.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 1996Date of Patent: May 12, 1998Inventor: Nancy A. Claytor

Patent number: 5638605Abstract: A quilting-aid device and method for use in making "two-color" squares for use in quilts, in which the quilter makes four of such squares from each larger square of two superimposed sheets of different material. The quilting-aid device, which saves the quilter from having to perform difficult calculations in the measuring and stitching and cutting of such squares, has two scales inscribed on a ruler-type base; a first scale on which to locate the desired size of two-color square and a second scale on which the corresponding position gives the size of the larger square with which to begin.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 1995Date of Patent: June 17, 1997Inventor: Sandra A. Sligar

Patent number: 5511316Abstract: A stencil for cutting sandpaper and it is formed from a sheet of plastic transparent plastic material having four corner lips extending down from the corners of the sheet. These corner lips have inner edges that define a rectangular recess for receiving a stack of standard sized sheets of sandpaper. Linear slots and arcuate slots in the stencil allow the sandpaper to be cut into two equal parts, three equal parts, four equal parts or circular disks having 6, 7, and 8 inch diameters.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 1994Date of Patent: April 30, 1996Inventors: Rory T. Fischer, Eric S. Fischer

Patent number: 4676005Abstract: The design of a geometric instrument which is used during the construction of the various cake layers or tiers of the wedding cake so that each cake layer is centered on a common vertical centerline, and both the support posts that are embedded in each layer of the cake, as well as the ornamental support posts, are positioned on two diametrical lines that are perpendicular to each other. This cake tier aligner has a lower pair of parallel support rails, a vertical column rising at one end of the lower rails and an upper pair of parallel guide rails supported from the upper end of the vertical column directly over and generally parallel to the lower support rails. The lower support rails include side stabilizing means, and the upper guide rails include measured indicia. There is a separate centering platform for supporting a cake layer above the lower support rails of the aligner. This centering platform includes a diagonal indexing means on its underside which slips between the lower support rails.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 1986Date of Patent: June 30, 1987Inventor: Arnold D. Seligman

Patent number: 4408397Abstract: A pie top cutter guide plate that is a simple and foolproof device enabling its user to produce a quality lattice pie top crust with little effort and minimum instruction. A continuing series of alternately arranged slots spaced equidistant apart on a flat plate that when placed on a piece of rolled pie dough and scored in each slot by the user with a sharp object and subsequently pulled apart from the ends perpendicular to the slots forms a lattice pie top crust. It is affordable to all, has no moving parts or sharp cutting edges, is easily cleaned and handily stored. Its basic simplicity was tailored to fit the one pie at a time maker in their own kitchen and not for the professional pie baker. However, the artistic results are professional in every aspect and will enhance the gourmet ability of the cooks in their preparation of a specialty item for the dining table.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 1981Date of Patent: October 11, 1983Inventor: Ralph M. Bartos

Patent number: 4100676Abstract: In a cutting device and, in particular, a device for cutting a flat object, such as a pizza, or the like, a base is provided which has two oppositely facing flat surfaces thereon. Each of the flat surfaces has scribed therein a plurality of straight slots which intersect to subdivide the surface into a plurality of segments. The segments may be pie-shaped, square, rectangular, or the like. A cutting instrument is drawn through each slot on one of said surfaces to cut a superimposed flat object, such as a pizza, into pieces.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 1977Date of Patent: July 18, 1978Inventor: Robert H. Ferguson
