  • Patent number: 9041071
Abstract: A unit pixel of an image sensor includes a photoelectric conversion region, an isolation region, a floating diffusion region and a transfer gate. The photoelectric conversion region is formed in a semiconductor substrate. The isolation region surrounds the photoelectric conversion region, extends substantially vertically with respect to a first surface of the semiconductor substrate, and crosses the incident side of the photoelectric conversion region so as to block leakage light and diffusion carriers. The floating diffusion region is disposed in the semiconductor substrate above the photoelectric conversion region. The transfer gate is disposed adjacent to the photoelectric conversion region and the floating diffusion region, extends substantially vertically with respect to the first surface of the semiconductor substrate, and transmits the photo-charges from the photoelectric conversion region to the floating diffusion region.

  • Patent number: 8903191
Abstract: In some embodiments, a method of processing a video sequence may include receiving an input video sequence having an input video sequence resolution, aligning images from the input video sequence, reducing noise in the aligned images, and producing an output video sequence from the reduced noise images, wherein the output video sequence has the same resolution as the input video sequence resolution. Other embodiments are disclosed and claimed.

  • Patent number: 8782126
Abstract: An end user is provided with an environment to easily remote-control a video camera via a general network such as the Internet. For this purpose, on a client side, the content of camera control is described in file-transfer protocol description, and the description is transferred to a camera server on the Internet via a browser. The camera server interprets the description, controls a camera in accordance with the designated content, to perform image sensing, and returns the obtained video image as the content of a file to the client. The client performs various controls while observing the video image. When a desired angle has been found, the client instructs to register the angle in a bookmark, then angle information displayed at that time is registered. Thereafter, when the user of the client can see the video image obtained on the same image-sensing conditions by merely select-designating the angle information registered in the bookmark.

  • Patent number: 8253859
Abstract: An HDMI(R) source determines whether or not an HDMI(R) sink can receive a sub-signal based on VSDB of E-EDID. When the HDMI(R) sink can receive the sub-signal, the HDMI(R) source adds a sub-signal to pixel data of a main image composed of pixel data whose number of bits is smaller than that of transmission pixel data transmitted by a transmitter, thereby constructing transmission pixel data. This data is transmitted by the transmitter through TMDS channels #0 to #2. Furthermore, the HDMI(R) source transmits a general control packet containing sub-signal information indicating whether or not the sub-signal is contained in the transmission pixel data in the control period of a vertical blanking period. The present invention can be applied to, for example, HDMI(R).

  • Patent number: 8175414
Abstract: A dynamic noise filter is disclosed, which includes a noise estimation circuit, a TNR filtering circuit, a SNR filtering circuit, a blending circuit and a motion estimation circuit. By performing noise estimation for each image, the invention dynamically adjusts the strengths of the TNR filter and the SNR filter as well as a blending ratio between the outputs of the TNR filter and the SNR filter, thereby obtaining the best image quality.

  • Patent number: 7983503
Abstract: A noise reduction apparatus is presented that includes groups of one or more serially connected non-linear filter units. Each of the filter unit groups are driven by decimated input image data at a different level of decimation and the output of at least one of these groups serves as one of a plurality of inputs to another group driven at a different decimation level.

  • Patent number: 7693869
Abstract: A computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer usable program code for managing a serially presented set of items. The process displays a content for a given item for an amount of time based on user input in response to a user selection of the given item. The process identifies a dwell value for the given item based on a dwell time for the given item and a timing profile. The dwell time is the amount of time the content for the given item is displayed. The process removes the item from a plurality of content items in response to a determination that the dwell value for the item is less than a dwell threshold.
