  • Patent number: 9933145
Abstract: An LED lighting device is provided, having a lamp housing and at least one LED module. The lamp housing has a lamp cover and a housing-type heat-dissipating lamp bracket that directly radiates the heat generated by the LED module. The housing-type heat-dissipating lamp bracket is entirely made of heat-dissipating material, and several radiating hole devices are set on the housing-type heat-dissipating lamp bracket. The radiating hole devices on the housing-type heat-dissipating lamp bracket and the gaps between the LED modules form a mutually-reinforcing thermal honeycomb effect, providing a heat dissipation channel with unhindered air convection. Radiating holes are set at the head and tail of the housing-type heat-dissipating lamp bracket. The radiating holes and the gaps between the modules enhance the heat-dissipating effect and enhance air convection, to improve heat dissipation from the lamp housing and provide improved heat dissipation effect for the entire lamp.

  • Patent number: 7547125
Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention relates to the protection of electronic displays and includes a guard configured to protect a lighting means while providing an expanded field of view. The guard may include a first element and a second element each having at least a top surface and a wall. The lighting means may be positionable substantially between the first element and the second element such that the top surface of the lighting means is below the first top surface and the second top surface to protect the lighting means from incidental impact. A gap between the first and second elements provides a field of view. The field of view may include a substantially orthogonal line of sight to one side surface of the lighting means.

Abstract: A covering for a light source is used to maintain light intensity of the light source when used in a degrading environment, such as one in which dirt, dust, grime, and abrasive particles are abundant and tend to be deposited on the lens or face plate of the light source, such as in an off-road vehicle. The covering includes a substantially transparent protective basal layer with a lower surface having a substantially transparent, removable adhesive coating. The basal layer is arranged and configured for removable adhesive affixation to the aperture surface of the light source. A plurality of substantially transparent protective layers, each having a lower surface, is disposed in sequence one on top of the other and on the basal layer to form a stack. Each of the plurality of layers has a removable adhesive coating disposed on their lower surface for affixation to an adjacent underlying layer.

  • Patent number: 7407308
Abstract: A luminaire (1) comprises a luminaire housing (2) having at least one light exit opening (3), and further comprises an explosion-proof illuminant (4) consisting of at least a lamp (5), a base (6) and a lamp envelope (7), and housing contacts (8) in the luminaire housing (2) for supplying the illuminant with electric energy. In order to facilitate the production of such a luminaire and in order to design said luminaire also in such a way that it is variable and suitable for use with essentially all kinds of lamps, and at least partially reusable, the lamp (5) and the base (6) are arranged in the lamp envelope (7) which is implemented in the pressure-resistant-encapsulation or increased-safety ignition protection mode and which is provided with envelope contacts (9) that are accessible from outside, said envelope contacts (9) being used for connection to the housing contacts (8) and being electrically connected to the base (6).

Abstract: Provided is a lighting fitting intended to be mounted in a panel. The fitting includes a body in which a lamp may be mounted. The body includes one or more ventilation apertures which are sized and configured to allow heat generated by a lamp in the body to be adequately vented to the exterior of the body, but to inhibit the passage of fire from the interior of the body to the exterior of the body. The one or more ventilation apertures may be formed by a slot in the body. The one or more ventilation apertures may be configured so that when the fitting is installed in its intended orientation, an at least partially downward path is defined between the interior and exterior of the body of the fitting through the aperture.

  • Patent number: 7384175
Abstract: A worklight with spare bulb storage that is integrated storage into the existing worklight framework. Many worklights have one or more worklight heads supported on a base, which includes one or more generally hollow elongate cross bar structural support members. The spare bulb holder is integrated into the one or more of the cross bar structural support members and includes one or more spare-bulb retainers and a retainer support piece. The retainer itself has an elongate extent with an end cap at one end and is formed to hold an individual elongate double-ended halogen bulb. The retainer support piece is retained in an end of a cross bar structural support member and has at least one opening sized so that the retainer can be inserted through it into the cross bar structural support member. The end cap on the retainer is formed to close the opening through the retainer support piece and to be held securely within the opening when the retainer is inserted into the cross bar structural support member.
