Abstract: A vertically adjustable overhang bracket uses an elongate base component adapted to be supported from a support column. A frame member is slidably secured to the base component to allow movement of the frame along the length of the elongate base component. The frame is of a shape to provide an outwardly extending support member for supporting concrete formwork members to one side of the base component. An actuator controls the position of the frame, relative to the elongate base component. With this arrangement, concrete formwork can be more easily supported in a cantilevered manner from support columns and vertically adjusted quickly to the proper position. Removal of the formwork is simplified as the frame can be lowered, relative to the base component providing clearance for removal of the bracket and the formwork.

  • Patent number: 4824350
Abstract: The invention relates to a sliding shuttering system for producing concrete structure walls, particularly for conical and/or sloping reinforced concrete structures with annularly closed, varying cross-sections. Especially in the case of sloping structures with upwardly diverging wall regions, the hitherto known sliding shuttering systems can only be used to a limited extent with regards stability and security. In order to be able to perform a sliding process even in the case of extreme structure configurations, the support is made rigid and is mounted on angularly adjustable piles, at least one of the pairwise associated piles being fixed to the support to prevent horizontal shifting.

  • Patent number: 4804320
Abstract: The invention relates to a sliding process for producing concrete structure walls and a sliding shuttering means for erecting or installing monolithic block brackets, praticularly in the case of annular structures. In order to permit a continuous installation of block brackets in the case of a favorable force transfer between the structure wall and the sliding shuttering, the invention provides for the integration into the sliding shuttering of shuttering forms which are substantially complimentary to the block brackets to be installed. In height regions without block brackets, the shuttering form is terminated in aligned manner on the wall side of the structure and is opened on reaching the height level of the block bracket to be installed. After providing the block bracket, on raising the sliding shuttering, the shuttering form is again closed at the top height level of the block bracket.

Abstract: Apparatus for nest-casting of generally large elements formed of multiple angular surfaces including a side forming element of concrete useful as a mold form together with a spaced repositioned element mounted also as a side forming element for forming therebetween another side forming element of concrete. Successive operations of cast forming and repositioning the side forming element provide new cast forming structures. Also, the repositioned side forming element is essentially constructed and arranged from an assemblage of interchangeable modular structural components some of which are hingedly connected, adjustable in length, and demountable from the assemblage. Heater elements and vibrating energy sources may be severally applied to the apparatus for compaction of the cast material and accelerating the cast process.

  • Patent number: 4734021
Abstract: A machine for building a dome or sphere has an extruder that extrudes part of a wall of a dome or sphere from fluid material which hardens on extrusion as the extruder travels around a center axis. A ramp allows the extruder to gradually ride up onto the initial wall so that another partial wall of the sphere can be formed. The extruder continuously moves along its own produced track in a spiral path to ultimately form a dome or sphere, as desired.

  • Patent number: 4562989
Abstract: A concrete forming system for constructing small diameter concrete columns with a refractory liner on the inside of the column wall. The present invention supports the inner and outer forms for the column wall on jacking frames which travel vertically on jacking beams attached to the wall. Loads created by plastic concrete are resisted by a system of radial supports which are attached to the inner concrete shaping forms and are supported by the jacking beams and jacking frames. After a portion of the column wall is poured, the next higher portion of the concrete column wall is formed by advancing the jacking frames and the concrete shaping forms upwardly along the jacking beams and reattaching lower sections of the jacking beams at the top of the jacking beams in order to provide a continuous track. The jacking frames and forms are raised on the jacking beams after a portion of the column wall is poured and the next higher portion of the concrete column wall is to be formed.

  • Patent number: 4530648
Abstract: A climbing form for progressively raising a form assembly in the construction of a concrete wall comprises has a support frame that adjustably carries a mast form unit, a main mast assembled with the frame for relative up and down movement, and a jib mast, equipped with a lifting means, extended upwardly from the main mast. A carriage within the main mast is releasably locked to the frame when the main mast is moved relative to the frame, and is releasable for up and down movement within the upper section of the main mast to raise and lower a jib form unit. A reversible nut and shaft drive means has the shaft rotatably supported in the mast upper section with the nut mounted on the carriage. With the lower section of the mast secured to the wall, and the frame and carriage in locked engagement, the drive means operates to raise the frame and carriage relative to the main mast to a new pouring position for the mast form unit.

  • Patent number: 4478385
Abstract: Climbing forms for stepwise erection of concrete walls have a platform which is supported by a frame having elongated carriers extending at right angles to the outer side of the wall to be erected and being removably suspended on anchors which are embedded in the wall. The platform supports a pair of parallel guide rails for a form member which carries the boarding of the climbing forms. The rails guide the carriages of the form member so that the boarding can be moved between an advanced position in which it is adjacent to the cavity into which concrete is to be poured and a retracted position in which the wall and the boarding define a passageway which is accessible to workmen on the platform so that the workmen can clean and/or otherwise treat that side of the boarding which faces the wall.
