  • Patent number: 11786642
Abstract: Systems and methods related to polymer foams are generally described. Some embodiments relate to compositions and methods for the preparation of polymer foams, and methods for using the polymer foams. The polymer foams can be applied to a body cavity and placed in contact with, for example, tissue, injured tissue, internal organs, etc. In some embodiments, the polymer foams can be formed within a body cavity (i.e., in situ foam formation). In addition, the foamed polymers may be capable of exerting a pressure on an internal surface of a body cavity and preventing or limiting movement of a bodily fluid (e.g., blood, etc.).

Abstract: The present invention relates to optimization of flavored polymeric compositions and methods of producing optimized flavored polymeric compositions. More specifically, the invention relates to flavored polymeric compositions comprising “flavor enhancing agents” alone or in combination with other flavorants as well as polymeric articles made from the same, wherein articles made from such polymeric compositions are not intended to be consumed, significantly destructed, masticated or fully or partially dissolved to release flavor.

Abstract: The present invention provides a degradable chewing gum base, degradable chewing gum, and methods of making a degradable chewing gum base and degradable chewing gum. The degradable chewing gum base includes at least one polymer or oligomer with at least two ionic groups. The polymers and oligomers possess the chewing characteristics and texture traditionally desired in a chewing gum while simultaneously providing materials which, when exposed to environmental conditions, break down to non-toxic molecules readily assimilated by nature.

Abstract: A molten plastic extruded from extruding means 10 is formed into a strand 50 by a die 40, passed through an inner side of a cylindrical guide 60 erected vertically, thereafter, the strand 50 is successively cut uniformly to a constant length by a cutter 90 to form a pellet. A refrigerant for air cooling is circulated at a surrounding of the strand 50 passing through the inner side of the cylindrical guide 60 by cooling means 100 of the strand without being leaked to outside air.

Abstract: Polyvinyl acetate polymers produced by mass polymerization or suspension polymerization are stabilized against blocking by addition of minor amounts of a silicon oxide compound during the pelletization process of mass polymerized polymers and prior to or during fluidized bed drying in the case of suspension polymerized polymers. The free flowing polymers are suitable for use as chewing gum bases, and for other uses.

Abstract: The invention relates to a confectionery product comprising at least one transparent module (TM) and at least one form stable support module (SM) and where said transparent module comprises gum base. By applying a transparent gum base comprising module, also referred throughout the application as a transparent module (TM), a whole new experience is present for the consumer. In some embodiments the confectionery may act and feel like an ordinary confectionery from the moment it is placed in the mouth but at the same time it gives the consumer an advantageous visual impression prior to placing it in the mouth.
