Abstract: A tomato booster is disclosed with stackable hollow cylinders and vertical interlocking doors adapted to allow a tomato plant space for growth of secondary root systems in a vertical position. A method of using the tomato booster is also disclosed.
Abstract: Root-growth stimulating compounds are applied to plants to stimulate growth of roots on the stem of a plant for air layering. The root-growth stimulating compounds may be applied by wrapping part of the plant with a tape that includes the root-growth stimulating compounds. The tape may include a gel layer that is impregnated or coated with the root-growth stimulating compounds. The root-growth compound may additionally or alternatively be applied to a plant by affixing a clamshell-type device around part of the plant. The device may hold a porous material containing the root-growth stimulating compounds in contact with the plant. Both the tape and the clamshell-type device may block light from reaching the covered portion of the plant thereby causing chlorosis.
Abstract: A wrap for use in air-layering made from a long tubular plastic net sack filled with a rooting media. The sack is used for secure placement of the rooting media about the plant surface. Furthermore, a method for air layering large woody plant is provided that comprises of placing the wrap containing the rooting media, over the plant surface.
Abstract: An all-natural fiber biodegradable generally planar mat for use in the germination, growth enhancement and propagation of plants and trees and the suppression of weed growth is provided. The present invention comprises a generally planer layer of at least one or a combination of natural fibers including, but not limited to, human hair, animal hair, coconut fiber, seaweed, kelp, cotton, corn silk and peat moss, and alternatively may incorporate a plurality of man-made fibers. Such mat may be constructed using needle punching, hydro-entanglement, or aero-entanglement. The generally planar mat in a wide variety of constructions is used in various methodologies of promoting seed germination, root growth, spot growth on existing plantings, landscaping under-laminate, soil additive, and as a weed control and pest deterrent in the horticultural field.

Abstract: A marcotting device includes a housing for housing a predetermined portion of branch therein. Such housing includes two sides hingedly attached to each other, an open first end formed when such sides are joined in a closed position, a pair of bottom members, each perpendicularly attached to one side closely adjacent a second end of such housing, each of such bottom members including a cut out portion such that when such sides are closed such bottom members align to form a housing bottom and such cut out portions form a first aperture therein. A cover member is engageable with such housing closely adjacent such first open end. An access mechanism connected to such housing enables water dissemination into such housing. A securing mechanism secures such housing on or around the branch, or a combination thereof.
