Gel Or Malleable Composition (e.g., Plastic-like, Etc.) Patents (Class 510/403)
  • Patent number: 11266582
Abstract: Water-soluble refill dose articles for forming a cleanser have a water-soluble film defining a first compartment enclosing a first composition and a second compartment enclosing a second composition, which are individual separate articles or are part of an integral article. The first composition has a rheology modifier, a first surfactant, 10% or less by weight water, 20% or less by weight glycol, and the first surfactant does not activate the rheology modifier. The second compartment has an alkaline substance that when mixed with the first composition and water activates the rheology modifier to increase the viscosity of a resulting cleanser and 10% or less by weight water. When the article is diluted in water at a 1:1 to 1:20 ratio, it produces a cleanser having a viscosity within a range of 2000 cps to 50,000 cps.

Abstract: A dilutable cleaner gel concentrate, dilutable cleaner gel concentrate in combination with a dispensing package, and method of using the cleaner gel concentrate are described. The gel concentrate includes a surfactant system which provides the concentrate having a gel point that allows the gel concentrate to convert from a highly viscous “stiff” gel at room temperature to a thin low viscosity liquid, that when combined with warm or hot water, the thin liquid readily mixes to provide an aqueous solution in which the liquid concentrate and water are uniformly dispersed. The viscosity of the gel at room temperature is about 50 to about 5000 Pa-s. The gel concentrate can be packaged in a squeezable dispenser. The gel concentrate is sufficiently shear thinning to allow it to flow from the dispenser upon mild manual pressure. The primary surfactant(s) of the surfactant system is(are) highly ethoxylated alcohol ethers and highly polyethoxylated alcohols.

Abstract: [PROBLEMS TO BE SOLVED] It is an object of the present invention to provide a gelator containing a long chain oxyaminopolyol capable of forming a gel with a small amount thereof over a liquid property range from acidic to alkaline, and a gel having high environmental suitability, biocompatibility and biodegradability. [MEANS FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEMS] A gelator, characterized by containing a long chain oxyaminopolyol of Formula (I): (where R1 is a C12-16 saturated aliphatic group or a C12-16 unsaturated aliphatic group having one double bond; R2 is a substituent which an amino acid has; and X is an oxygen atom or NH) and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; a self-assembly formed by the self-assembly of the gelator; and a gel containing the gelator or the self-assembly, and water, an aqueous solution, a hydrophilic organic solvent or a hydrophilic organic solution, or a hydrophobic organic solvent or a hydrophobic organic solution.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method of washing ware, in particular in an automatic domestic or institutional ware washing machine, using a detergent composition containing a cationic starch. This eliminates the need for a surfactant in the rinse step. The cationic starch provides a layer of cationic starch on the ware so as to afford a sheeting action in an aqueous rinse step without any added rinse agent.

Abstract: A composition for cleaning hard surfaces which is self-adhering to a wet or dry hard surface through a plurality of flows of water thereover. The composition is a gel having a viscosity of about 600,000 cP to about 1,500,000 cP and is capable of being manually applied, i.e., in absence of an applicating dispenser, to a hard surface. The gel composition with high viscosity provides for continuous cleaning until depletion, or may be used for one-time cleaning at any time between application of the composition to a hard surface and depletion of the gel composition.

Abstract: The rinsing performance of acidic gel cleaners comprising acid, surfactant and water is improved using a synergistic combination of two polymers consisting essentially of (a) copolymer having a quaternized monomer and (b) microbially-derived polysaccharide. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the acidic gel cleaner includes (a) a copolymer having at least a diallyldimethylammonium chloride monomer or an acrylamidopropyltrimethylammonium chloride monomer, and (b) xanthan gum. The improved gel cleaners have the unique ability to be easily rinsed from a hard surface even if previously dried into a dry mass on the hard surface.
