  • Patent number: 8651828
Abstract: A combined debris catcher and pressure relief valve positionable between first and second ports of an inlet arrangement that is upstream of the main body of a vacuum pump. The debris catcher includes an open ended tube that is spring biased upwardly and in normal operation forms a seal with the inlet arrangement. In the raised or sealed position, incoming fluid from the system to be evacuated travels along a closed flow path through the first port of the inlet arrangement, through the debris catcher, and out through the second port of the inlet arrangement into the main body of the vacuum pump. If the inlet arrangement is hooked up initially or at any time to a system that is above atmospheric pressure, the above atmospheric pressure will overcome the upward force of the spring on the tube and cause the tube to move to an open position spaced from the inlet arrangement harmlessly venting the high pressure fluid to ambient air and avoiding potential damage or contamination to the pump.

When a level of dust in the dust collection container reaches a selected level, it will close the sensor conduit first end. When the sensor conduit first end is closed, a pressure within the sensor conduit internal volume will rise towards atmospheric as a result of the air flow through the air vent.

  • Patent number: 5820642
Abstract: A pressurized air supply apparatus includes an air intake section for sucking air from outside, a compressor which pressurizes and discharges the air sucked by the air intake section, a removing section for removing unnecessary components contained in the pressurized air discharged from the compressor, and a pressure adjusting section with a relief valve for discharging a part of the pressurized air free of unnecessary components for the removing section when the pressure of the pressurized air reaches a value higher than a predetermined value. An output section supplies the pressurized air pressure-adjusted by the pressure adjusting section to a load. An air recycling flow path mixes the pressurized air free of unnecessary components with air from outside. Thus, the apparatus receives the air free of the unnecessary components by air recycling to supply pressurized air of a high degree of cleanliness to the load and, at the same time, to eliminate the air discharge sound from the relief valve.

Abstract: A rail car unloading aspiration unit includes a rail car nozzle for providing air conduits for feeding conditioned air to the rail car and for withdrawing air therefrom, ambient air being drawn between a weather shield, hood or cover and a fan chamber mounted on a heating chamber which forces ambient air to pass through a filter and be heated within the range of approximately 77.degree. F.-95.degree. F. The heated air is passed in proximity to ultra violet lamps after which the air is directed into the rail car nozzle and expelled into the interior of the rail car head surface above the product being unloaded. During the time that power is applied to the aspiration unit, the fan forces air to be drawn into the unit and conditioned, and the ultra violet lamps remain on. However, the heaters are selectively activated or deactivated as a function of the temperature of the incoming air in order to maintain the temperature of the air within the desired ranged prior to being exposed to the ultra violet lamps.
