Abstract: An improved sliding door latch comprising a recess formed in the leading edge of a sliding door, a latchplate covering said recess and formed with an opening to allow engagement by a latch member, a housing mountable in a recess formed in a door jamb, a latch member pivotally mounted in said housing and movable into and out of a position engaging said latchplate, lever means actuable to move said latch member, and privacy latch engageable with said lever means to prevent undesired actuation of said lever means.
Abstract: A locking system (20) allows a plurality of vehicle service doors (22) to be locked and unlocked by operating a single electrical switch in a suitable location such as the vehicle cab. The locking system (20) includes a lock (24) having a bolt (26) and a blocking cam (40). An actuator (144) moves the acm (40) between locked and unlocked positions via an extension member (46). The actuator (144) includes an actuating member in the form of a combined piston (148) and rack (150). A spring (170) urges rack (150) to remain in either of two selected positions.
Abstract: A combination lock for a key safe has an over-center spring for biasing a unitary bolt in an extended or retracted position. A switch for actuating the bolt has a break-away button to foil vandals. The bolt includes checkers for engaging notches in a plurality of programmable combination rings when the combination is properly dialed. The checkers have V-shaped ridges for engaging false notches formed in the combination rings, making the lock pick-resistant. The checkers also include flat shoulders to prevent the bolt from being forcibly wedged into the combination rings to open the lock. The combination must be properly dialed to permit the bolt to be retracted for closing the key safe.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a lock mechanism for data processing equipment. The lock mechanism can simultaneously switch the power supply on or off, lock or unlock the housing of the equipment, and lock or unlock a removable covering installed over a drive assembly. The lock mechanism has a leafspring to produce self-retaining and positively-engaged final positions of a pivoted lever lock. Attached to the lever lock are a plurality of swivel arms arranged and located to perform the simultaneous functions mentioned above. Further, the lock mechanism includes a lock bolt biased closed by a compression spring and actuated by one of the swivel arms.
