Abstract: A laser light projector includes a housing having a plurality of apertures, a number of laser diodes and drivers mounted on said housing and aligned to direct laser light beams through the apertures, a controller connected to each driver for controlling the timing and sequence of laser light beams from the laser diodes, and a plurality of mirrors aligned to receive the laser light beams and deflect the beams in desired directions. A second embodiment includes connectors connected to the controller and utilizes plug-in modules, each including a laser diode and a driver to permit various types and numbers of laser modules to be operated by the controller.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for altering the charge distribution upon living membranes with functional stabilizational of the membrane physical electrical integrity further comprising a method for using submicroscopic, quadripolar, circular, center charged, energy balanced magnetic device in a four (4) magnet array of alternating polarity in which the magnetic poles are separated only by a distance which will allow a magnetic sphere of influence on all adjacent poles to suppress the firing of action potentials of mammalian sensory neurons. The method and apparatus further provides a static magnetic device for production of a magnetic field for treatment of various disorders.

Abstract: A decorative lamp fixture includes a housing with a generally rectangular cross-section formed of a pair of identical interlocking extruded members. An opening or window is formed on each side of the housing. The housing includes a plurality of internal grooves or channels for holding fasteners supporting a bracket which secures a glass block in position, such that its face surfaces are adjacent or protrude slightly from the openings. A lamp is positioned within the housing such that it directs light at an edge of the glass block. Other edges of the glass block are coated with a light reflecting coating, such as white paint. The housing includes a cover, and the lamp may be secured to the cover, or it may be positioned below the glass block.

Abstract: A method and system of drilling straight directional and multilateral wells utilizing hydraulic frictional controlled drilling, by providing concentric casing strings to define a plurality of annuli therebetween; injecting fluid down some of the annuli; returning the fluid up at least one annulus so that the return flow creates adequate hydraulic friction within the return annulus to control the return flow within the well. The hydraulic friction should be minimized on the injection side to require less hydraulic horsepower and be maximized on the return side to create the desired subsurface friction to control the well.

Abstract: A secured debit card package having an embedded value and being adapted to be sold from open and unprotected retail shelving. The secured debit card package comprises a debit card, formed as from a first material bearing a card identification number, and packaging means formed as from a second different material securing the debit card thereto, the packaging means defining a window through which the card identification number is visible, a magnetic stripe disposed on the packaging means, the magnetic stripe bearing an encoded representation of a card identification number borne by the debit card, the stripe being positioned to be scanned by a terminal for reading the encoded representation from the packaging means and for transmitting the encoded representation to a remote processing center for testing of the representation to determine whether the debit card should be activated. A method for providing security for the embedded value of a debit card is also disclosed.

Abstract: A carrier for tubular members, such as subs, which includes a basket, having a floor portion and a plurality of side walls, and an open top portion; a plurality of holes formed in the floor of the basket, of equal diameters; a plurality of pins insertable in the plurality of holes, the pins extending upward into the basket opening substantially to the height of the basket walls; each of the pins having a base portion of equal diameters to slidably engage into any bore on the floor portion, and an upper elongated body portion of differing diameters to slide within a bore of a tubular sub, so that the sub may be supported in a vertical position on the pins, and not make contact with other subs supported vertically on the other pins in the basket while the subs are being stored or transported.

Abstract: A water-cooled pump motor for delivering potable water in a demand system includes a centrifugal pump including a volute and an impeller in the volute, an electric motor driving the impeller having a hollow rotor shaft, a rotor on the shaft, bearings supporting the rotor shaft, a stator coaxially outward of the rotor, two water impervious liners, one located within the stator and the other coaxially outside the rotor, the liners being spaced to define a cylindrical passageway across the rotor and a cooling and lubricating water passageway for water to flow through the motor including flow from the impeller between the rotor shaft and the bearings, across the cylindrical passageway and through the hollow rotor shaft back into the volute.

Abstract: A jump rope combination, which includes a single length of jump rope being sufficiently long to allow a large adult to use, a handle detachably secured to each end of the length of rope, each handle comprising a body portion for gripping by the hand, a bore in the body portion for threading each end of the rope therethrough to a desired length, and a continuous channel formed in the outer wall of the body portion for allowing the excess length of rope extending from the handle to be secured within the continuous channel, so that the body may be gripped. In a second embodiment, the rope includes conventional handles having a continuous channel in the handles for allowing excess rope to reside in the channels for determining the various lengths of the jump rope.

Abstract: An apparatus for removing coil springs having a first upright handle member terminating on its upper end with a threaded drive block for accommodating a steel screw threadable through the drive block and movable along the threaded shaft. There is provided a first spring block secured to the upper face of the drive block for accommodating a first end of a coil spring. There is a second spring block on an end portion of the steel drive screw for accommodating the second end of the coil spring, so that rotation of the drive screw expands or retracts the distance between the first and second spring blocks, and would expand or retract the spring in sufficient distance to remove or replace the spring. There is further provided a guide plate below the second spring block, having a slot for accommodating a first bar for pushing or pulling a spring out of engagement and for accommodating a second bar having a member for pushing or pulling a spring out of engagement or pulling a cotter pin out of engagement.

Abstract: A one-piece flexible cable boot for external installation around a cable connector of the type being coaxial in nature. The cable would include a flexible, closely fit external sleeve having a compressive end for supporting a cable against flexing (strain relief) and having on its second end an inwardly extending seal, deformable so that it can be pushed, screwed or twisted onto, the threads or housing of the device to form a water tight seal. The connector would also include EPDM material which is known in the art which is ozone and chemical resistant. The assembly is specifically designed for enclosing trunk and feeder cable connectors that are mounted in taps, amplifiers, nodes, line extenders, and directional couplers for aerial and underground applications. It will also be used for splicing cables that have been cut or extended.

Abstract: A testing apparatus which is commonly known as a “fuse saver”, for testing the integrity of an electrical system of the type that utilizes flat or glass fuses, the fuse saver apparatus which includes a body portion, which includes a current receiving electrical components, a selector switch for establishing the quantity of amps for which the fuse is being tested, and a trip indicator button, which indicates the malfunctioning in the fuse contacts, an electrical cord extending from the body portion, and terminating in a plug having at least a pair of flat fuse test plugs for insertion into a flat fuse receiver, and a test plug adaptor engageable onto the flat fuse test plug, having at least a pair of cylindrical terminals, for insertion into the adaptor for glass fuses.

Abstract: An apparatus, adaptable to a wheelchair, for assisting a person seated in the wheelchair to move to a standing position, the apparatus including a member slidable upward and downward along the chair; a seat, having a seat portion hinged to a back portion; at least one flexible strap member, engaged at a first end to the slidable member, and traveling along an under surface of the seat, and engaged at a second end to a stationary portion of the wheelchair, so that when the slidable member is moved to a down position, the flexible strap is pulled taut beneath the seat, lifting the seat from a sitting position to a substantially raised flat position, so that a person sitting in the seat is likewise lifted from a seated position to a partially standing position. The slidable member may be positioned along the front or rear of the chair, depending whether the person would be assisted by a third person in front of or behind the chair.

Abstract: An integral elastic strap for head wear. The elastic strap is attached to the rear of the head wear. The integral strap is positioned at the rear of the head wear such that when the hair is pulled back, the elastic strap is stretched and twisted around the hair to secure the hair in the form of a pony tail. The head wear can be one of a variety of head wear, such as a conventional hat, a baseball cap, etc. When used in conjunction with head wear that is adjustable in size, such as a baseball cap, the elastic strap also holds the edge of the cap snugly against the wearer's head when the wearer's hair is not being secured, thereby eliminating the need for a conventional securing strap.

Abstract: A compound for reducing the incidence of pseudofolliculitis combines a mild skin astringent, an oil based epidermal softener, and a hair stiffener. One embodiment of the compound combines refined powdered oatmeal and emollient of the compound combines refined powdered oatmeal and emollient oil, such as mink oil and liquid vitamin A in a petroleum jelly base. The mixture is applied by being massaged into the skin prior to lathering and then again immediately after the rinsing of the face after shaving. Continual usage significantly reduces the eruption of pseudofolliculitis.

Abstract: A spreader bar includes an elongated bar member having end portions that support a flexible lifting member that is supported below the bar. The flexible lifting member is preferably comprised of a plurality of link sections that are pinned together, load carrying links depending from the flexible member, preferably at pinned connections that join the additional links.

Abstract: What is provided is a piano instructional apparatus including a frame positionable on the keyboard of a piano, the frame transversely slidable along the keyboard for going from key of C to other keys; two rows having a plurality of LEDs, positioned along the frame, over each note, so as to provide red LEDs on the lower row to strike the key with the left hand and green LEDs on the upper row to strike the key with the right hand, when a particular LED is lit. There is further provided a hand select means which allows a person to use a single hand during practicing certain notes. There is further provided encryption of certain tunes within the unit so that a person may call up a certain tune and follow the notes through the lighting of the LEDs, at either an automatic mode of their own selected tempo or a note by note advance using the provided foot switch. There may be included a metronome for following the beats in the tune selected.

Abstract: A portable feed carrier with a central feed chamber for roughage and an integral hanger attachment for attaching a pail for holding grain. The central feed chamber is formed by a flexible panel. The hanger attachment detachably attaches to a feed pail. The hanger attachment uses the weight of the pail to secure the central feed chamber in the closed position such that the roughage is not visible to the livestock. Shoulder straps are attached to the proximal and distal ends to allow a user to carry the device hands-free. Removable support rods are inserted into sleeves at the proximal and distal ends of the carrier to hold the ends of the flexible panel in alignment, and retain the shape of the carrier. The hanger strap can optionally go over or through the flexible panel, and be attached to the flexible panel, the support rods, or the shoulder strap. Optionally, a single shoulder strap can be used in place of the dual straps. The shoulder straps can be permanently attached or detachable.
