  • Patent number: 5416536
Abstract: An aerodynamic eyeglass lens piece which integrally combines a central inboard transparent section with laterally outboard mirror sections, thus enabling a forward facing user to see objects in front as well as behind. The lens piece sections form one agonic lens piece comprising: a light transmissive transparent section and fully reflective mirror sections. The mirror sections have an anatomical shape permitting unhindered over the shoulder viewing for bicycle riding. Several enhancements allow the lens piece to be interchangeable with tinted or clear alternatives. In the preferred eyeglass embodiment of the invention, the lens piece is selectively adjustable to a variety of operative positions. These enhancements serve to provide added versatility, fine tuning and custom fitting for the user. An alternate embodiment fits the lens piece to the existing sport helmet of the user.

  • Patent number: 4577698
Abstract: A two-way gang plow is provided with a main support frame arranged for connection to a conventional three point hitch of a tractor. The forwardmost pair of plow bottoms are secured in fixed position on a portion of the roll-over plow frame that is fixed against angular adjustment relative to the longitudinal direction of movement of the plow by the tractor. The pairs of plow bottoms trailing the forwardmost pair are mounted on a plow frame that is pivoted to the fixed roll-over frame section for angular adjustment relative to the longitudinal axis of the main frame and hence the direction of the movement of the tractor. The pairs of plow bottoms rearwardly of the forward most pair also are mounted on the angularly adjustable frame for pivotal movement relative to said frame, for adjusting the land sides of the plow bottoms relative to said angularly adjustable frame.

  • Patent number: 4577883
Abstract: A vehicle tow bar comprises a longitudinally extending, tubular cross bar mounted laterally across the front of the vehicle to be towed, the cross bar mounting for longitudinal movement thereon, pivotal rotation thereabout, and laterally pivotal movement relative thereto, a longitudinally extensible, two section telescoping reach having a hitch coupler mounted on its forwardmost end arranged for connection to an associated hitch ball component on a tow vehicle. A pair of tow chains connect opposite longitudinal ends of the cross bar to the forwardmost end of the reach and are arranged to become taut when the reach is extended to a desired maximum length. A locking screw on the rear section of the reach releasably engages the forward section of the reach to move the latter forwardly in order to tension the chains attached thereto and to prevent inward collapsing of the telescoping sections.

  • Patent number: 4549663
Abstract: A trailer frame storage system comprises a plurality of storage units connected closely together in laterally spaced apart condition, each storage unit having a plurality of longitudinally spaced, folding trailer frame support arms each arranged to receive and support a trailer frame for storage in a substantially vertical position in which the trailer frame is rested on its rear end on the ground and its forward end extends upwardly. Each arm is extended, one at a time from rear to front, by movement of the next rearward arm to fully extended position as a trailer frame is rested against it, the frames being transported longitudinally into the storage unit, successively filling the unit from the rear end to the front end. Removal of the stored trailer frames follows the reverse order, and removal of each frame results in it engaging the next adjacent forward arm from which a trailer frame has been removed, to cause said forward arm to be moved toward retracted position.

  • Patent number: 4546226
Abstract: Particulate dielectric material is processed by radio frequency (RF) energy while being simultaneously conveyed from an inlet to an outlet, by disposing the transmitting and receiving electrodes of an RF generator diametrically opposite each other on the outside of a conveyor tube containing a screw conveyor, both the tube and screw being made of dielectric material. A fiberoptic probe is located at one end to sense the temperature of the particulate material in the conveyor tube and is connected at the opposite end to an infrared sensor which provides an electric output signal proportional to the sensed temperature. This output signal is coupled to a set point controller which provides an electric output signal representing a small temperature range above and below a selected set point temperature, and the latter output signal is coupled to a duty cycle regulator which operates to regulate the "on" time of the RF generator.

  • Patent number: 4525119
Abstract: A wheeled vehicle mounts a rotary framework providing a plurality of longitudinally extending, peripheral and inner compartments for the removable storage of a multiplicity of hay bales or like objects. The framework is rotated by a driven endless chain wrapped about the framework centrally of the longitudinal ends thereof. Communication between the peripheral and inner compartments is controlled by movable gates operated selectively by spring-loaded latching mechanism at predetermined intervals of rotation of the framework. A longitudinally extending, reversibly movable feed conveyor below the framework registers with each of the peripheral compartments selectively for moving bales to and from the compartments. The arcuate shields extend from the opposite sides of the feed conveyor upwardly to form with the latter a semicircular shield surrounding the lower half of the framework to confine the bales in the lower peripheral compartments.

  • Patent number: 4500381
Abstract: Multiple ply corrugated or solid fibre paperboard having any desired number of plies is made by adding to the delivery end of conventional corrugator or paster apparatus, between the cut-off section and the stacker section, a glue applicator system controlled, preferably by computer program, to apply glue only to the desired areas of those outfeeding paperboard sheets which are to be bonded together to form the desired multiple ply paperboard. The glued and unglued paperboard sheets proceed to the stacker section where they are stacked one upon another. The paperboard sheets having an interface of glue are bonded together to form the multiple ply end product and the paperboard sheets having no glue interface allow subsequent separation of the plurality of multiple ply corrugated paperboard end products in the stack. Offsetter mechanism is provided to offset corresponding margins of certain plies of a group before depositing them in the stacker, to form a splice joint.
