Abstract: An eddy current testing system is disclosed in which a pair of thin one-layer windings are disposed against a pair of thin plates of high permeability magnetic material, about aligned openings in the plates through which a wire is passed, pits and inclusions in the wire being detected by comparing signals corresponding to the electrical impedances on the two windings. The plates of high permeability magnetic material operate to concentrate magnetic flux in small regions of the wire, to obtain a high resolution.

Abstract: A device for connecting the strengthening rod on seat upholstery to the seat load-bearing structure. The device is composed of a fastener into which is engaged a corresponding end of the strengthening rod, a buckle, integral with a fastener and secured to the same by means of a flexible rib enabling angular displacement of the fastener, and a flexible clamp designed to wrap round a member on the load-bearing structure for securing the fastener in projecting manner to the member, and integrally formed at its opposite ends to the buckle and a stop tab designed to engage with the buckle.

Abstract: An opening stopper of elastomeric material, especially for sealing lacquer outflow openings in automotive vehicle bodies, comprising a closed bottom, an elastically shapable flange covering the edge of the workpiece opening, a collar connecting the bottom to the flange, and a shoulder disposed at the outer surface of the collar, said shoulder engaging behind the oppositely disposed opening edge, wherein the shoulder is formed by a circumferentially extending free edge of a lip configurated like a conical disc which is tied at a location level with the countersunk bottom and extends obliquely outward towards the flange.

Abstract: Buckle on which a female part having a receiving opening at one end and an adjacent locking edge on the opposite side to the opening, and a male part, having a locking portion and an activating portion, are designed to connect in releasable manner; the buckle being characterised by the fact that the locking and activating portions are formed on an intermediate portion and the free end respectively of a flexible tongue projecting from the male part in the insertion direction, the flexible tongue being connected to a further essentially-rigid contrasting tongue on the male part, the distance between the tongue and the locking portion on the flexible tongue being greater than the height of the receiving opening.

Abstract: A switched telephone tester comprises a tester body defining a connector portion of complementary configuration for receiving a modular telephone plug, a light emitting element responsive to a given voltage for emitting light, and a switch coupled with the tester body and with the light emitting element and movable relative to the tester body to a first position for placing the light emitting element in electrical circuit across tip and ring contacts of the modular telephone plug and a second position for taking the light emitting means out of circuit across the tip and ring contacts, to thereby test for the presence of a voltage across the tip and ring contacts.

Abstract: A telephone line tester comprises a tester body having a connector portion of complementary configuration for insertion into a modular telephone jack; a light emitting element having a light body and a pair of elongate leads extending outwardly of the light body; guides in said tester body for guiding the elongate leads to and across the connector portion to a position for engagement with tip and ring contacts respectively of the modular telephone jack when the connector portion is inserted into the modular telephone jack. Preferably, the light emitting element comprises a bipolar LED adapted to emit a first color of light in response to a voltage of a first polarity thereacross and a second color of light in response to a voltage of opposite polarity thereacross, and to emit no light in response to substantially no voltage thereacross. The invention also contemplates a method of forming a telephone line tester of the foregoing type.

Abstract: A device for tensioning belts or the like, comprising a first portion adapted to have one end of the belt fastened thereto and a second portion adapted to be brought into engagement with a portion of the belt spaced through a distance from one end of the belt and locating the same in the tensioning position vis-a-vis the first portion, whereby the two portions which are formed of synthetic material are adapted to be connected to each other and to the belt in a manner to be pivotable such that upon pivotal movement into the tensioning position a limited shortening occurs in the length clamped by the belt between the two points that have been established, and in that the portions are interlockable in the clamping position via an arresting connection, said arresting connection being releasable by means of an actuation portion accessible from outside.

Abstract: A novel one piece plastic couple is disclosed. The couple comprises a first member whose inner surface is conformed to the shape of the member to be coupled and has a first latch means on its distal end, a second member hingedly connected to the first member as its distal end and to a base member at its proximal end, a third member affixed to the base member at its proximal end and disposed in the same direction as the first member and spaced a predetermined distance from the first member with a second latch means on its distal end which is designed to properly engage the first latch means when the first member is pivotally moved toward the third member to a final latched position.

Abstract: Filling and discharging valve for inflatable hollow bodies, particularly dinghies, comprising a valve housing having a radial flange adapted to be attached to the inflatable body and a valve seat facing the interior of the inflatable body, the valve seat co-operating with a plate-like valve member. A spring is located within the valve housing and biasing the valve member towards the closed position thereof. Holding means hold the valve member in the opened position. A dead center spring above the valve member includes a dead center spring which is secured to the circumference of the valve housing. The dead center spring holding the valve member in its close position above the dead center and holds the valve member in its opened position below the dead center.

Abstract: An improved nut-and-screw type device for converting rotary input to linear output. The device includes an involute-helicoidal screw, a nut assembly including a plurality of annular ring and groove rollers conjugate to said screw; a freely rotating ring having internal grooves conjugate to said roller; and bearing means engaging said rotating ring and the outer housing of said nut assembly thereby providing rolling line contact for transmission of the major forces.

Abstract: A lead wire retainer comprises a pair of half rings, retaining means for holding a given lead wire in place, and elastic supporting means for elastically supporting the retaining means. The lead wire retainer is constructed so that the pair of retaining means firmly hold the lead wire when the pair of half rings are joined with the engaging means to complete a full ring.
