  • Patent number: 6273423
Abstract: A novel game and board or surface is played in combination with two sets of playing pieces consisting of three dice each, one set being visibly distinguishable from the second set and wherein in one embodiment all bets are placed on the board or surface before the first set of dice is throw to speed up the method of play and payoffs for each bet are set by the house. Optionally, the house may set and take additional bets between a throw of the first set of dice and a throw of the second set of dice. In another embodiment of the invention, players use the two sets of dice in sequence wherein winning bets are related to poker hands such as open numbers from 3-35; 3 of a kind; 4 of a kind; 5 of a kind, straight; any 3 pair; 6 of a kind, and six sixes (but specifically excluding two of a kind to provide decisive winning odds for the house) and where the payoffs for each bet are 2 for 1, 3 for 1, 4 for 1, 5 for 1, 8 for 1, 8 for 1, 12 for 1, and 20 for 1, respectively, for example.

  • Patent number: 5997316
Abstract: A test fixture for integrated circuits, particularly those having large numbers of contacts. The fixture has a socket for receiving the integrated circuit, with conductive wad pins of the socket contacting lands or solderballs of the integrated circuit. Four clamping and alignment studs having peripheral grooves near their upper ends extend upward from the four corners of the socket. A lid is pivoted about a hinge pin which goes through bearing holes in the two studs and the lid. A pressure pad is resiliently suspended from the lid for applying pressure to the upper surface of an integrated circuit disposed in the socket. A slide-lock plate is mounted on the upper surface of the lid. A pressure pad screw extends from a position above the slide-lock plate, through a hole in the slide-lock plate, to engage threads of the central hole of the lid to apply pressure to the pressure pad when the pressure pad screw is rotated.

Abstract: A control system for an internal combustion engine having a pressurized gaseous fuel source, a control valve for regulating the amount of gaseous fuel supplied from the pressurized gaseous fuel source, and an intake passage in which the gaseous fuel, the amount of which has been regulated by the control valve, is mixed with intake air and supplied to the engine as an air-fuel mixture. An ECU of the control system controls the air-fuel ratio of the air-fuel mixture to be supplied to the engine by regulating the amount of the gaseous fuel through the control valve, and various sensors detect operating conditions of the engine. The ignition timing of the engine is calculated based on the detected operating conditions, and when the air-fuel ratio of the air-fuel mixture is in a predetermined lean limit region, the output of the engine is controlled by correcting the ignition timing.

  • Patent number: 5585788
Abstract: A data transmission system for automotive vehicles in which messages are transmitted by circulating a transmission right signal among a plurality of electronic control units, by a token passing method. Each of the electronic control units judges that the right to transmit a message to the network bus has been acquired when it is determined that the transmission right signal has not been circulated for a predetermined time period, and at the same time an idle state of the network bus has been detected. If a collision of the transmitted message with any other message is detected, the above process is repeated after the lapse of a waiting time period specific to the electronic control unit which judged that the right to transmit a message had been acquired.

  • Patent number: 5494019
Abstract: A control system for an internal combustion engine calculates an amount of fuel to be supplied to the engine based on load on the engine, and estimates an amount of fuel adhering to an inner wall surface of an intake passage of the engine and an amount of fuel carried off the fuel adhering to the inner wall surface of the intake passage, based on an adherent fuel-determining parameter indicative of a fuel transfer characteristic of the engine. The amount of fuel to be supplied to the engine is corrected based on the amount of fuel adhering to the inner wall surface of the intake passage and the amount of fuel carried off the fuel adhering to the inner wall surface of the intake passage to determine a corrected amount of fuel supplied to the engine. The corrected amount of fuel to be supplied to the engine is injected into the intake passage. The timing of the fuel injection is controlled based on the adherent fuel-determining parameters.

  • Patent number: 5483938
Abstract: An air-fuel ratio control system for an internal combustion engine controls an amount of fuel supplied to the engine. Operating conditions of the engine, including engine rotational speed and intake pressure, are detected. Also detected is a valve opening of a recirculation control valve arranged in an exhaust recirculation passage, for controlling recirculation of exhaust gases. An amount of recirculation gas is determined based on a detected value of the valve opening of the recirculation control valve. A fuel supply amount is calculated based on the engine rotational speed and the intake pressure. The fuel supply amount is corrected based on the amount of recirculation gas determined.

  • Patent number: 5476428
Abstract: An attachment for a weight stack type exercise machine to pull the weight stack down while it is being lowered, (or to pull on a weight stack lifting means so as to add to the force applied to the lifting means by the weight stack) so that the eccentric exercise force required to lower the stack is greater than the concentric exercise force required to raise it. Such asymmetric exercise forces more closely match muscle strengths, which are normally greater for eccentric exercise than for concentric exercise. The attachment has an electric motor and a control unit including a keypad, a display and a microcontroller. The motor is coupled to the weight stack by an eccentric force control cable or a toothed belt or alternatively is operatively connected so as to apply additional force to the lifting arrangement. The keypad allows the user to select the amount of force added during the eccentric phase of exercise, when the weight stack is moving down.
