  • Patent number: 7407218
Abstract: A trailer sidewall structural system comprises a plurality of interconnecting modules, with each module having a dissimilarly configured, pair of opposing elongate, lateral edges. Such pair of lateral edges are configured so as to have a first edge of a first module, engage and interlock with a complemental second edge of an abutting second module, the modules being otherwise identical. The complemental lateral lengths of each module form a pair of opposing keyways, that permit interlocking of the lateral edges of two otherwise identically configurated, planar modules, thus providing for a variable length of modules, as may be dictated by the longitudinal dimensions required of a trailer sidewall, and the transverse dimensions of each such module are being adapted to be secured to the deck and top rails located along the trailer sidewalls.

  • Patent number: 6647901
Abstract: An automatic coal stoker is disclosed having at the base of its hopper an enclosed reciprocating pusher assembly rectangular box shaped which delivers compressingly a defined but variable quantity of coal into a restricted passageway. Successive quantities form a compressed strip of coal to be burned between side rails of a fire grate situate and over an air box fed with a forced air supply. As the strip works its way across the substantially horizontal grate, it burns without forming clinkers, discharges ashes at the bottom of the incline, and effects a minimal degree of uncombusted coal in the ashes. The fire grate of the present invention is substantially horizontal throughout its functional length.

  • Patent number: 6596289
Abstract: A garment for treating the skin, a method of making the garment and a method of using the garment to treat the skin, made of garment material, in particular hose material to be worn tightly against the skin, which has a multiplicity of durable chemical bonding sites. The durable sites which are preferably of the type to make covalent bonds, are bound to binding molecules which form chemical hooks for the garment material. Each of the chemical hooks has one or more semi-durable chemical bonding sites of the type which can chemically bond an active ingredient molecule to the binding agent but which is broken in the presence of skin conditions which are normal such as normal skin pH, normal skin moisture and normal skin heat generated both by body heat and the heat of friction of the garment rubbing against the skin. Active ingredient molecules such as molecules of theophylline or theophylline complexes are bound to the binding agent and are released to the skin when the garment is worn.

  • Patent number: 6502820
Abstract: A multiple target apparatus having an array of target plates arrayed linearly and pivotally on a first elongate shaft; a plurality of torsion providing components located on the first shaft are adapted to bias the targets in an upright mode; each target has a depending arm pinned to rotate upon the imposed deflection of a target by a speeding projectile to a latching position. Arrayed upon a spaced apart, second shaft are a like number of rigid levers spanning the lateral space between the first and second shafts. A detent on the one end of each of the depending arms is adapted to be contacted and arrested by the opposing lever until such are dislodged by a descrete target deflection and array reset, which are located at one end of the device, such that upon imposed rotation of the reset means, it also releases the latching position of the other targets.

  • Patent number: 6448251
Abstract: A composition and method for treating both superficial and subdermal inflammation is taught by treating an inflamed skin area, muscle, or bone joint, with a therapeutically effective amount of a skin-compatible ester of a zwitterionic aminosulphonic acid (ZASA-Ester) of the formula. ROCH2—CH2—N N—CH2CH2 SO3M wherein M is an alkali metal, like sodium, and R is a naturally occurring, straight-chain, saturated or unsaturated, aliphatic acid moiety, selected from one of the groups consisting of alkanes, alkenes, and alkadienes, each having a hydrocarbon chain of from one to twenty carbon atoms. The resulting HEPES esters are represented by the acetic acid ester as an exemplary alkane, the oleic acid ester as a exemplary alkene, and the linoleic acid ester as an exemplary alkadiene, the esters of which form fatty acids in nature. The most useful of which are the acetic oleic (cis isomer), linoleic, palmitic, and stearic moieties; they occur naturally as glycerides, i.e., esters of glycerol.
