Abstract: A mounting arrangement for use with a baseless electrical lamp includes an insulating fixture having a plurality of electrically conductive terminal members. The exposed lead wires which protrude from the press of the baseless electrical lamp engage the electrically conductive terminal members so as to both provide electrical current to the baseless electrical lamp and retain the baseless electrical lamp in the insulating fixture.
Abstract: A wrench capable of operating on large fasteners in confined areas includes multiple body portions which can be connected in surrounding relationship to a nut. A bar or bars can be inserted into aligned slots in the wrench and the surrounded fastener so as to engage the wrench and the fastener for wrench operation.
Abstract: A clearance pocket having a housing attached to a cylinder of the compressor. In one embodiment, in which the housing has a sidewall and a distal wall and includes a clearance chamber with a passageway extending between the cylinder head and the clearance chamber, the pocket also has a piston movably located in the clearance chamber in slidably sealing engagement with the interior sidewall of the housing, and means for providing fluidic communication between the cylinder head and that portion of the clearance chamber between the piston and the distal wall of the housing.

Abstract: A valve choke actuating device utilizes a stepping actuator with a feedback control system. A command signal and a feedback signal are compared to produce a train of electrical pulses proportional to the difference in the signals. The train of pulses are utilized to actuate piston-cylinder assemblies to control the opening of the choke.
Abstract: A microfuse (10) with a ceramic chip (12), thick film pads (14), fusible wire (16), attached to pads (14) without solder or flux, ceramic coating (18) and plastic body (20). External lead (24) configuration can be axial, radial or surface mount. The method of manufacturing the fuse (10) is improved by utilizing a wire bonding technique in order to improve the quality of the manufacturing process and increase the reliability in performance of the fuse and reduce manufacturing cost.
Abstract: A portable device for cooking food consists of a rotatable spit and basket assembly, a housing enclosure and a mounting cart. The rotatable spit and basket assembly is positioned within the housing enclosure and is rotated by an electric motor. The housing enclosure has a hinged top and hinged doors which provides access to the rotatable spit and basket assembly. The housing enclosure is supported by the mounting cart.
Abstract: A shade system includes a fixed top rail, a fixed bottom rail and a movable middle rail. A shade is affixed between the top rail and the middle rail and is folded when the middle rail is moved with respect to the top rail by a continuous loop drive system. The shade system of the present invention may be used with any window irrespective of the orientation of the window.
Abstract: A rejection-type fuse block is disclosed for use with Class CC cartridge-type fuses having ferrules at opposite ends, the ferrule at one end having a cap of smaller diameter than the ferrule. An insulated rejection collar having a rejection opening sized to allow the cap to pass therethrough while preventing passage of the ferrule is positioned between the fuse and an electrically conductive terminal. A leaf spring located at the end of the fuse opposite the cap end serves to axially press the fuse towards the insulated rejection collar and the cap into contact with the terminal. Fuse clips are provided for releasably securing the clip in proper position.
Abstract: A fuseholder assembly includes a two pole fuseholder having load side and line side sections housing a pair of inline fuses which connect respective load and line side terminals, and a breakaway receptacle that releasably joins the line side terminals to corresponding line conductors. The line side section of the fuseholder includes a boss on one side thereof and the load side section and breakaway receptacle each include mating grooves formed therein. The boss is received within both grooves when the fuseholder assembly is properly assembled to polarize the fuseholder sections with respect to one another and to polarize the attachment of the breakaway assembly to the line side fuseholder terminals.
Abstract: A track lighting fixture includes a housing with sufficient space for a replaceable lamp and a voltage reduction transformer. Mounted on the base of the housing is a plate member which is removably engagable with the housing by the resilient interaction of spring clips with the housing.
Abstract: A portable, sectioned, rotatable platform member has four distinct portions, a central portion, a substantially flat table portion, a curved apron portion, and an edge wall portion. The platform member is supported by vertical rotatable bearing surfaces which are positioned under the substantially flat table portion of the platform member. Additionally, horizontal, rotatable, guide surfaces are located under the platform member to position the platform member and allow for its free rotatability.
Abstract: A portable power tool for forming wire wrap type connections includes an electric motor, a torque transmitter and a casing for enclosing the electric motor and the torque transmitter. Removably mounted to the casing is a battery pack. The battery pack mounts both rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries so that the battery charger may not be recharged in a physically compatible battery pack when non-rechargeable batteries are contained within the battery pack.
Abstract: A subminiature fuse comprising two terminals, a substrate, a fusible conductor, ceramic coating, a second coating and a unitary housing. A ceramic substrate 80 plated at both ends is inserted into fingers (70) in terminal, a fusible wire element 10 is strung between the fingers (70) and (20, 30) and electrically connects the terminal (20, 30). The assembly 160 is encased in a ceramic adhesive 180 which is encased in a second material (200) with superior dielectric properties. The ceramic encased assembly is enclosed in a unitary housing by injection molding.
Abstract: A support system useful to interconnect interstage components in a centrifugal compressor. The system allows controlled balancing of pressure induced forces while accommodating thermal expansion and contraction. In one preferred form a support ring is mounted about a scroll volute but supported through tie rods from a conduit concentrically aligned with the volute. A second support ring is mounted about the conduit, facing but spaced from the first ring, and supported from the volute. The support rings are respectively sealed to the volute and conduit through O-rings which allow sliding axial motion. A grooved peripheral pipe coupling seals the space between the support rings. The surface area of the support rings can be selectively chosen to direct and control pressure forces within the compressor system.
Abstract: A process for manufacturing an incandescent lamp includes evacuating the lamp through a hollow space formed in the lower portion of the lamp to be sealed by press jaws and sealing the lamp with press jaws whose surface is substantially flat.
Abstract: A recessed lighting fixture includes a lamp and accessory retainment spring which has a lower resilient portion for holding a first size lamp, a central mounting portion and an upper resilient portion for holding a second size lamp. The lower resilient portion may be used for mounting a lighting accessory when a second size lamp is located in the upper resilient portion.
Abstract: An electrical capacitor (10) having an improved dielectric system. The capacitor includes layers of metal foil (15,16) and dielectric sheet material (17) which is impregnated with a liquid dielectric composed of a mixture of phenyl xylyl ethane and phenyl tolyl methanes.
