Abstract: An optical lens having a colored coating affixed to the edge of the lens. The apparatus may enhance the cosmetic appearance of eyeglasses by reducing the appearance of the white ring appearing along the perimeter of the face of lens when viewing eyeglasses from the front, and by reducing the appearance of the white film on the edge of lenses when viewing eyeglasses from the side. The apparatus may also reduce the glare of the optical lens from light entering through the edge of the lens.

Abstract: A mechanical numeral wheel counter comprising several numeral wheels and switch sensors set alternatively around the numeral wheels. The circumferences of the numeral wheels are divided into equal spaces and a sensing material is placed on each of the spaces. As the numeral wheels rotate, the status of each sensor will be different when the numeral wheel is at different position. Signals output from the sensors are processed by a computer capable of reading and recognizing the signals. A standard digital wave form can be obtained from the processed signals received by the computer from the sensors.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method of recording an occurrence of a data transmission between a node and a network, comprising: inspecting the data transmission between the node and the network to locate a network address contained in the data transmission; inspecting the data transmission between the node and the network to determine an activity type to be achieved by the data transmission; and recording the activity type and the network address if the network address is one of a plurality of predetermined desired network addresses and the activity type is one of a plurality of predetermined desired activity types. The present invention also provides for creating an activity file by recording an occurrence of a data transmission between a node and a network, transmitting the activity file over the network to a processing site, evaluating the activity file to determine a reward based upon the activity file, and transmitting indicia of the reward to the node.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a paint roller having an open end which can be inserted into an applicator handle and a surface area adapted for use in painting. The core of the roller is made from a core material and the core has an inner surface and an outer surface. A major portion of the core has a substantially uniform thickness. A cover is affixed to substantially all of an outer surface of the core and a processed region at one end of the core has a reduced thickness which is less than the substantially uniform thickness of the major portion of the core. The processed region of the core is folded inward such that the one of the core and the reduced portion of the core material are not exposed at the end of the paint roller.
