Abstract: A query enhancer module providing a unique method to modify user submitted queries within a web-based, multi-tier enterprise solution. The user submitted query specifies data to be retrieved from a database. Without any user interaction the query enhancer module rewrites the query to specify a subset of the data specified in the user submitted query. This rewritten query is then executed against the database to retrieve the subset of the data. Generally, the subset set of the data comprises the amount of data that can be displayed on a single web page.

Abstract: A security feature having unique photoluminescent properties and a method for making the security feature. The security feature includes a silica carrier and a rare earth dopant dispersed throughout at least a portion of the silica carrier. The rare earth dopant includes a rare earth ion to which ligands and/or inorganic sensitizers are associated. The ligands and/or inorganic sensitizers are positioned to absorb energy and transfer the absorbed energy to the rare earth ion.

Abstract: An electronic hardware cabinet includes a forced-air component positioned to force a stream of air to move through the cabinet and at least two electronic assemblies mounted within the cabinet, each of which includes a heat-generating component. The electronic assemblies are positioned so that a portion of the stream of air is heated by a first one of the heat-generating components and, thereafter, that portion of the stream of air moves toward a second one of the heat-generating components. An airflow diverter is positioned between the electronic assemblies to deflect that portion of the stream of air heated by the first heat-generating component to prevent it from reaching the second heat-generating component.

Abstract: A medium for printing, such as a thermal receipt roll for an ATM. The medium has two sides, each side having a plurality of marks positioned to trigger an automatic operation, such as printing, movement, or cutting of the medium when identified by a detector. Preferably, the marks are adapted for optical sensing by a detector located along one side or the other of the roll, and are positioned at regular intervals along the side edges. This allows the roll to be used in business machines having different detector configurations.
