  • Patent number: 6053426
Abstract: Apparatus for spraying an ice surface with a white paint comprises a trailer having a tank carried on the trailer, a pump and a boom having a plurality of spray nozzles. The tank has a large opening in the top for receiving bags of paint pigment. The pump is a high capacity pump which generates a flow rate significantly greater than necessary to supply the nozzles. The excess is returned to the tank through a jet mixing system including four arms each having a pair of jet nozzles. A mixing wand is also provided which receives mixed materials from the pump for the jet nozzle for stirring within the tank. The nozzles are closely spaced so as to generate an overlapping spray pattern. The nozzles generate a fine mist and are directed slightly upwardly and rearwardly.

  • Patent number: 6003543
Abstract: A gas regulator has a has an internal gas chamber and a solenoid valve that controls gas flow into the clamber. A pressure monitor monitors the pressure in the chamber and controls the operation of the solenoid valve to produce a desired pressure in the chamber. The solenoid control signal is a pulsed signal with a variable pulse width, frequency or both. The pressure maintained in the chamber may itself be varied by altering the set point pressure, for example according to the operating parameters of an engine.

  • Patent number: 5341898
Abstract: A boom assembly for mounting on the roof of the building provides a pulley which receives a cable for depending over a front edge of the building to allow lifting or lowering of materials attached to the cable. The boom assembly can be folded to a relatively small packaged arrangement for ready transportation. The boom assembly can be adjusted to accommodate different orientations of support surface for example inclined or angled roof structures. The boom arrangement includes a vertical post, a counterbalance pole extending rearwardly from the base of the post and a pair of arms extending at right angles to the counterbalance pole. A brace is connected between the top of the post and the counterbalance pole with the base extending outwardly and carrying the pulley at the outer end. A cable arrangement extends between the pulley and a rear end of the counterbalance pole.

  • Patent number: 4912283
Abstract: A shielding tape particularly designed for CATV cable in which a single conductor is surrounded by insulation which is in turn wrapped by the tape comprises a laminate base tape of a conducting foil and a non-conducting plastic film. The base tape is folded along two fold lines spaced by slightly less than half the width of the base tape with the foil outermost at each of the folds and the edges of the base tape overlapping. A bonding layer can be applied on the side of the folded tape with the overlapping edges. An additional narrow J-fold can be applied along one edge to provide additional contact between the foil at the overlap. The continuous extent of the foil around the full periphery of the tape provides an improved "slot free" shielding effect.

  • Patent number: 4888472
Abstract: An electric heater consists of an open mesh net of heat resistant filaments, for example fiberglass filaments, carrying electrically resistive material, for example, carbon black. On either side of the net is a mat of fiberglass reinforcement. The net and the fiberglass reinforcement are impregnated with a cured, thermosetting synthetic resin. In some embodiments a ground layer is also incorporated between layers of the fiberglass mat. The heater is manufactured by assembling the heater, the fiberglass mats and any ground layers, impregnating the mat thus produced and pultruding the impregnated mat to set the resin matrix of the heater.

  • Patent number: 4875510
Abstract: A dovetailing jig has a base with a flat top surface notched along the back edge. A back on the jig has a flat front surface that is positioned above and at the rear of the top surface of the base while two side plates provide confronting flat side faces. Two clamping cylinders extend between the side plates to clamp work pieces to the top surface of the base and to the front surface of the back. In use, the jig slides on a bench surface equipped with a stationary router blade.

  • Patent number: 4864900
Abstract: Conventionally, air brake cam clearance is difficult to check due to inaccessibility and the force necessary to rotate the cam to check for the required clearance. The present device engages around the end of the cam lever both front and back and gives sufficient leverage to rotate the cam without any danger of slippage occurring. A wrench is formed on the opposite end of the tool and may be used for adjusting the clearance if necessary.
