Abstract: Methods are used to enrich a cell library in such a way to provide a nearly continuous choice of cells to implement a circuit design. The emphasis of the design method is on automatic determination of the needed cell sizes and variants. The method exploits different variants on drive strengths, P/N ratios, topology variants, internal buffering, and so forth. The method allows enriching libraries to become more suitable for efficient timing closure. The method also offers means to adapt the preexisting cells to fit the final distribution, minimizing the number of new cells to be created.
Abstract: Methods reduce the number of newly created cells when creating new cells to optimize a design. Cells are created to optimize a design, but neighbor cells fitting a distribution of drive strengths and P/N ratios are used instead. This allows reducing the number of newly created cells to optimize the design, through uniquification of neighbor instances with respect to the distribution grid.
Abstract: Techniques for altering iris pigment in a human or animal, thereby altering iris color of an iris from a first iris color to a second iris color, are provided. An apparatus includes at least one laser device and a masking device. Another apparatus includes at least one laser device and a contact lens. The at least one laser device can generate at least one beam to selectively remove iris pigment of at least one preselected pigment color from the iris. The energy level of the at least one beam is within a predetermined range. The masking devices include a transparent portion and an opaque portion. The opaque portion of one such masking device occludes a portion of the at least one beam to protect a pupil area. The opaque portion of another such masking device creates an elliptical beam for application of the beam laterally from the side of the iris or some other different angle for lateral exposure of the iris. The contact lens includes a transparent portion and an opaque portion.
Abstract: An LED lighting system includes a power supply module, a data input line routed through the power supply module, an AC power input, and an LED fixture. The power supply module includes a power supply unit and an AC power cable. The AC power input is electrically connected to the power supply unit and the AC power cable. The LED fixture is electrically connected to an output of the power supply unit and the data input cable, and includes one or more LED assemblies disposed on a circuit board, a data signal output, and a power output. The AC power cable may be routed through the LED fixture.

Abstract: A light-emitting display system has interlocking tiles. In an implementation, each tile has a portion of a clamp that joins with another portion of the clamp on another tile. A tile is removed from the display by unlocking the clamp portions. The tile is removed without affecting the position of the other tiles in the display.

Abstract: In an information management system, relevant policies are deployed to targets while policies which are not relevant are not. By deploying relevant policies, this reduces the amount of space requirements at the target to store the policies and the amount of data that needs to be sent to the target. Also, execution speed at the target may increase since the target does not need to evaluate policies that are not relevant.
Abstract: An e-learning system that provides a customized e-learning experience for a user. Information is received from a user identifying the user's learning objectives. Based upon the user's objectives, a study plan that is customized for the user is developed. The study plan may comprise one or more course units that the user can access through a server using a client system used by the user. User activity is monitored, including the user's activity within the e-learning system and outside the e-learning system. Information is recorded regarding the user's progress and performance. This information is used to modify the study plan, as appropriate for the user.
Abstract: Operations of a turbine to generate energy from a relatively slow fluid flow, such as wind and water, are described. The turbine has a plurality of foils rotating about a central axis at a rotational velocity, each of the foils having a length and a foil axis parallel to the length and the central axis with each of the foils rotatable about its foil axis. From determinations of a velocity of the fluid flow, and angular location of each foil and the rotational velocity about the central axis, an attack angle of each foil is controlled with respect to the direction of fluid flow about the foil axis responsive to the velocity of the fluid flow, the angular location of the foil and the rotational velocity as the foil rotates about the central axis.
Abstract: A technique will automatically route interconnect of an integrated circuit while taking into consideration current density rules. In an implementation, the technique uses a shape-based approach where a grid is not used. Based on data input including current density and a frequency of each net, the technique will determine the current requirements for each net. In an implementation, the technique forms a Steiner tree for a net, and routs using the Steiner tree. The technique widens nets having greater current requirements; adjacent wiring may be pushed aside to create sufficient space for wider nets.

Abstract: A technique of the invention reduces significantly the distance between the gate and single-walled carbon nanotubes to improve performance and efficiency of a carbon nanotube transistor device. Without using a porous template structure, single-walled carbon nanotubes are grown perpendicularly to a substrate between a base metal layer and a middle mesh layer. The nanotubes are insulated with a thin insulator and then gate regions are formed.
Abstract: A technique validates results from a circuit simulation estimation program. The technique determines whether the estimated results satisfy Kirchhoff's current law (KCL), Kirchhoff's voltage laws (KVL), and power conservation for the original circuit. A reporting tool shows the validation results and may be customized by the user. The tool can show in the original circuitry where the estimated results may be inaccurate.
Abstract: A method and system for connecting a light emitting apparatus is disclosed herein. The system includes at least two rod assembly connectors, in which each rod assembly connector includes a rod assembly body having a first end and a second end. The first end of one of the rod assembly connectors is configured to connect with the second end of the second rod assembly connector. Further, at least one of the rod assembly connectors includes an attachment mechanism, in which the attachment mechanism is configured to attach to a light emitting apparatus.

Abstract: Code is associated to a target based on an inspection of the code. A target may be a device or a user. A number of code components may be inspected at one time and then transferred or otherwise associated to a target based on the target's profile. A code component may be a policy of an information management system.
