Abstract: According to the invention there is provided a radiation source for use in endovascular radiation treatment which comprises one or more and preferably at least two treating elements or seeds comprising a radiation emitting element and means for containment of said radiation emitting element which radiation source is characterized in that said seeds comprised in an elongated container having at least one deflection site. There is further provided an apparatus for endovascular radiation treatment comprising an elongated catheter, optionally a guide wire and the radiation source as defined above.
Abstract: To provide an exhaust gas purifying catalyst which can maintain the catalytic activity at a high level over a long time and can achieve satisfactory emission control performance, an exhaust gas purifying catalyst is prepared so as to contain a noble metal, a perovskite-type composite oxide represented by the following general formula (3), and theta-alumina and/or alpha-alumina: AB1-mNmO3??(3) wherein A represents at least one element selected from rare-earth elements and alkaline earth metals; B represents at least one element selected from Al and transition elements excluding rare-earth elements and noble metals; N represents a noble metal; and m represents an atomic ratio of N satisfying the following relation: 0<m<0.5.

Abstract: An appliance for a hotplate has two heating devices installed parallel to one another. With an energy control device and as a function of an angular position, either a first heating device is operated in controlled manner or a second heating device is connected thereto in fixed form. The power of the second heating device is defined so low that no temperature limiter for protecting a glass ceramic plate has to be provided in the control path of the second heating device. On connecting in the second heating device, the controlled power of the first heating device is lowered to an initial value by roughly the amount of the power of the second heating device. The total power results from the summated power of the two heating devices.

Abstract: Machine for the manufacture of lipsticks or similar, comprising a mobile support (1) for a plurality of housings (8) for flexible moulds (14) that are fillable with cosmetic product, said mobile support (1) being movable through a plurality of working positions comprising a position (17) for heating the flexible moulds, a position (18) for filling the flexible moulds with poured cosmetic product and a position (19) for cooling said poured cosmetic product. Said heating position (17) comprises means for the introduction of warm heating air into said moulds and said cooling position (19) comprises mould cooling means that operate by convection of cold air.
Abstract: An object location system having tags for tracking objects. A finder and tags each have a memory, and RF send and/or receive capabilities. The finder stores tag identification codes in its memory, and associates the identification codes with descriptive text identifying an object to a user. A user selects a descriptive text identifier to locate an object, and the finder transmits a search RF signal including the tag identification code to locate the desired object. The tags receive the search RF signal and compare the transmitted tag identification code with their own stored identification codes. A tag responds to the finder by signaling, which may be by transmitting a found RF signal if the transmitted and stored tag identification codes match. The finder signals to the user that the object with the selected descriptive text identifier has been located, and indicates a relative proximity of the finder to the object.
