  • Patent number: 7937832
Abstract: A wired circuit board having improved adhesion between the conductive pattern and an insulating layer to prevent a plating solution from remaining between a metal plating layer and the insulating layer. The invention prevents ionic impurities in the plating solution from remaining as residual or ionic contamination, thereby preventing a short circuit from developing when electric current flows through the circuit under a high temperature and high humidity environment. Lower end portions of the terminal portions that are formed on an insulating base layer and lower end portions of side surfaces and metal plating layers that cover the terminal portions are embedded in the insulating base layer in a flexible wired circuit board.

  • Patent number: 7935931
Abstract: The power consumption of a battery for supplying electric power to a cassette having a radiation detector for detecting radiation image information is greatly reduced. When a cassette transceiver of the cassette starts transmitting the radiation image information to a console transceiver of a console, the cassette transceiver changes the gain of a variable-gain amplifier to change a transmission radio-wave intensity, and transmits a test signal at the changed transmission radio-wave intensity. When the console transceiver receives the test signal, the console transceiver transmits a reception acknowledgement signal generated by a reception acknowledgement signal generator. In response to the reception acknowledgement signal, the cassette transceiver sets its own transmission radio-wave intensity to a value at the time the cassette transceiver received the reception acknowledgement signal, and transmits the radiation image information at the set transmission radio-wave intensity.

  • Patent number: 7915533
Abstract: In the silicon nitride substrate concerning an embodiment of the invention, degree of in-plane orientation fa of ? type silicon nitride is 0.4-0.8. Here, degree of in-plane orientation fa can be determined by the rate of the diffracted X-ray intensity in each lattice plane orientation in ? type silicon nitride. As a result of research by the inventors, it turned out that both high fracture toughness and high thermal conductivity are acquired, when degree of in-plane orientation fa was 0.4-0.8. Along the thickness direction, both the fracture toughness of 6.0 MPa·m1/2 or higher and the thermal conductivity of 90 W/m·K or higher can be attained.

  • Patent number: 7909198
Abstract: A tamper-evident enclosure for the storage and transport of bank notes comprises a frame spanned by a membrane of elasticated material. The frame is located in the top of an open-topped container and bank notes are pushed through the frame, deflecting flaps, until the membrane is fully distended. A cover plate is then slid through channels on opposite sides of the frame to close the “bag”. When the “bag” is fully closed a tongue at the leading end of the cover plate enters a hollow formation at the trailing end of the frame. Either the tongue has fins which dig into the interior of the hollow formation, or the channels and opposite sides of the cover plate have saw-tooth formations permitting movement of the cover plate only in one direction. By either arrangement the cover plate can only be removed from the frame by first breaking off the tongue and bending down the hollow formation.

  • Patent number: 7911074
Abstract: A helical auger turbine and hydrokinetic device for use with electrical generators for producing electricity. The auger turbine includes a generally helical turbine blade rotatably mounted on a central shaft, which may be tapered at each end, and a flange extending perpendicularly to an edge of the turbine blade. At least one turbine blade support connection is included for connecting the central shaft to a support structure. An electrical generator may be powered by the helical auger turbine, that can be used in a tidal water flow. The helical auger turbine can operate a high pressure pump connected to a hydraulic accumulator for storing pressurized hydraulic fluid from the high pressure pump. An electrical generator can be operated by hydraulic fluid delivered from the hydraulic accumulator at times of slow water flow. A plurality of helical auger turbines can be horizontally oriented under water, tethered to legs of an ocean platform such as an oil rig secured to the seabed.

  • Patent number: 7908898
Abstract: The invention proposes a method for the integral molding of a flange (5) onto the end of a round or oval pipe (11) of thin-walled sheet metal. This method takes place in two stages. In a first stage, for the purpose of accumulating material, a sectionally circular or spiral-shaped bead (17) is molded on by means of a pre-forming roller tool (9), comprising a combination of rollers (13 to 15) (Figure a). In a second stage, the molded-on bead is compacted with the aid of a final-forming roller tool (18), comprising the rollers (19) and (20), to produce an at least partly solid flange (5) (Figure b).

  • Patent number: 7911109
Abstract: The invention regards a permanent-magnets mono-phase synchronous electric motor (7) for washing machines and the like, in particular for washing pumps (1), with improved stator (4) structure and of the type centrally comprising a permanent-magnets axial rotor (2) and a stator (4) with a lamination pack core (5) and a couple of pole pieces with ends enveloping the rotor (2), of which they have substantially the same axial length and from which they are spaced by respective aircore. Such a motor is distinguished in that the lamination pack core (5) has a shorter axial length with respect to the ends (10, 11) of said pole pieces. Advantageously, the stator (4) pole pieces are obtained through moulding magnetic powders.
