  • Patent number: 6715405
Abstract: A domestic machine for cappuccino includes a bottom vessel (A), enclosing a coffee holding funnel (B), screwed to a top container (C) provided with seal, filter and a central tube (D), for the upflow of the coffee, on which there is slidably put an outer tube (E) of greater diameter so as to obtain an interspace between the two tubes (D, E), the bottom end of the outer tube (E) carrying a filter (M) to emulsify the milk through a rapid reciprocating motion while the top end is closed by an automatic-opening valve (F) which puts the vessel (A) in communication with the outside when the machine begins to cool down.

  • Patent number: 6263033
Abstract: A microcontroller provides an asynchronous serial port with a serial clock derived from the processor clock. Although the serial clock cannot be exactly programmed to yield an ideal frame length at a particular baud rate, an additional register is provided for tuning the frame length. Each transmitted asynchronous serial frame is stretched by a number of either serial clock phases or processor clocks defined in the tuning register. This provides for improved reception of the asynchronous data, because the frame length more nearly matches the ideal baud rate frame length.

  • Patent number: 6249008
Abstract: A code reader configured with a plurality of types of illuminators is disclosed. Having access to the plurality of illuminator types, the code reader controls a reading attempt by first selecting and using one of the available illuminators. If the use of that illuminator fails to yield a valid read, the code reader selects a second of the available illuminators and reattempts the read. Again, upon failure to obtain a valid read, the coder reader selects yet another illuminator and so on until a valid read is obtained else all illuminator options have been exhausted. Illuminator selection order is set as a factory default, but adapts based on actual performance in a users environment. Alternately, illuminator order selection is based on range from the target. Such range may be proximity based, or based on marker beam distance calculations. Additionally, the illuminators are mounted on a single assembly along with read control program memory for ease in upgrade replacement.

  • Patent number: 6097219
Abstract: An output buffer circuit drives an output terminal of an integrated circuit by means of at least two buffer circuits. A buffer control circuit in the output buffer circuit selectively enables or disables the buffer circuits to provide a driving capability suitable for the load connected to the output terminal. The buffer control circuit can decide which buffer circuits to disable by sensing the transition time of a signal output from the output terminal following a reset.

  • Patent number: 6055389
Abstract: The transfer voltage supplied to the transfer roller in an electrophotographic printer is determined by feeding current to the transfer roller and reading the voltage produced by passage of the current through the transfer roller. Whether the transfer roller is adequately charged is determined by comparing the voltage reading with a previous voltage reading. The voltage reading is preferably an average reading taken over one revolution of the transfer roller. Alternatively, separate voltage readings are taken for different radial sectors of the transfer roller, and the transfer voltage is determined separately for each radial sector.
