  • Patent number: 4513582
Abstract: A control for use with an expendable refrigeration system is disclosed which has particular use in refrigerated transport applications. The control is used to regulate the injection of refrigerant into the space to be refrigerated and provides an accurate means of precisely selecting a preferred ratio of "on" to "off" timing segments in each cycle and the number of complete cycles in a given time frame. In one embodiment of the invention, pneumatic pressures are used to power an oscillating device, the number of oscillations are counted to a selectable total. Attainment of the chosen total causes the counter to transmit a signal, which signal actuates the operator of a four-way valve. The switching of the valve provides the means to (a) open a liquid line valve to inject the refrigerant into the refrigerated space and (b) reset the counter, terminate the actuation signal and start the next cycle count.

  • Patent number: 4505239
Abstract: The invention relates to an engine including a cylinder defining a combustion chamber which receives a mixture for combustion thereof, and a piston slidably mounted therein for reciprocation between a first and a second limit position whereat the chamber defines its minimum and maximum volume, respectively. A pair of rotatably mounted parallel crankshafts are arranged equidistantly relative to the longitudinal axis of the cylinder, each having a crankarm rotatable about its respective crankshaft axis. Coupling means connect the crankshaft together for synchronising rotation thereof with the crankarm of one crankshaft having an angular advance over the crankarm of the other crankshaft. A rocker member pivotally connected to the piston for rocking movement about a pivot axis extends normal to the longitudinal axis of the cylinder, and a pair of connecting rods interconnect the rocker member and the respective crankarms of the crankshafts with each connecting rod being pivotally connected to the member.

  • Patent number: 4471970
Abstract: A resiliently biased seat panel for a seat frame associated with an end gate of a push-cart. The end gate has leg holes to permit the legs of a child seated on the seat frame to extend therethrough. The seat panel comprises a hinge along an edge thereof to hingedly retain the panel for displacement to and away from the seat frame. A spring biases the seat panel away from the seat frame in a position against the leg holes to obstruct at least a substantial portion of the leg holes when the seat panel is not utilized for seating a child. Thus, articles positioned on the seat frame cannot fall through the leg holes as it is obstructed by the seat panel.

  • Patent number: 4422560
Abstract: A frypan lid comprises an upper transparent plastic cover and a lower heat resistant plastic collar fixedly connected to the transparent cover and adapted to fit on a rim of the frying pan. The collar acts as a heat insulating body between the cover and the frying pan so as to prevent heat generated by the frying pan during use from adversely affecting the cover. The frypan lid prevents grease or the like from spattering out over the area immediately surrounding the pan, while at the same time enabling one to view the contents of the pan. Since both the cover and collar are made of plastics, the lid is also light-weight and practically non-breakable.
