Abstract: An apparatus for selecting optimum lighting fixtures for a given application first determines a room cavity ratio from entered values of the dimensions of the room. The room cavity ratio is used to select from tabulated values a coefficient of utilization. The light output in lumens from a particular lamp, modified as necessary by depreciation factors, is applied to determine the number of fixtures and the spacing of those fixtures that are necessary to achieve a desired level of illumination. The design process then normally requires changing the number of fixtures to an integral number that lends itself to the space to be illuminated. Reentry of such values as well as different values of illumination levels that are associated with different fixtures allows repeated determinations to optimize the selection of a lighting fixture.
Abstract: A switchgear apparatus comprising a row of pressure vessels, a frame including first and second generally horizontal, elongated members rigidified by the row of pressure vessels, an outer housing including a generally horizontal top portion supported by the frame, generally vertical, spaced apart side portions connected to the top portion, and a door which is movable between a lowered, closed position in which the door prevents access to the interior of the housing and a raised, open position in which the door affords access to the interior of the housing, the door including a generally planar first portion connected to the top portion for pivotal movement relative thereto about a generally horizontal axis, the first portion being angularly spaced from the top portion when the door is in the raised position, a mechanism for assisting manual movement of the door from the lowered position to the raised position, and a mechanism for releasably retaining the door in the raised position.

Abstract: A fuse holder for a cylindrical fuse with a tubular body and conductive metal end caps is disclosed where the holder includes a molded base and metal terminals. The base is adapted to carry a pair of terminals in spaced apart alignment to receive at least one fuse, but a plurality of fuses can be carried in parallel rows on a common base between aligned pairs of terminals. Notched lines are positioned between the rows to define lines of weakness for severance of the molded base providing at least one fuse holder and terminal pair. The configuration of one fuse holder is elongated and rectangular with the molded base having a generally flat center and raised ends. The terminals are identical in shape and snap fit to the ends of the base between a pair of upstanding legs which form a channel for alignment with the axis of the fuse. Each terminal has a squat U shape in end profile and includes four spring fingers to hold the fuse end cap against the terminal base which is the flat bottom part of the U.
