  • Patent number: 6663125
Abstract: A bolt-on, adjustable vehicle side step for a sports utility vehicle, pick-up truck or four wheel drive vehicle utilizing a pair of rocker panel attaching brackets (20) with an outward-extending integral male cog gear (22) that fastens onto a vehicle rocker panel. A pair of arms (34) having a female cog gear bore (36) and a step receiving hole (38) are juxtaposed on the bracket, with each male cog gear penetrating a bracket bore at an angle accommodating the configuration of a given vehicle and a desired step location. A pair of length adjustable legs (42) are nested together and attached to the brackets. Each pair of legs adjustably expand between the vehicle's frame and the brackets, thus forming an unyielding, compressible rigid structure. A step platform (64) is disposed within each connecting arm step receiving hole on each end such that the platform spaces the arms apart and provides a convenient footstep to assist a person who is entering or exiting the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6655342
Abstract: A pre-lubrication system that lubricates a vehicle engine prior to starting the engine. The system operates manually or when an engine has low oil pressure resulting from operating the engine during slow moving traffic or during an oil pump failure. In its basic form, the system consists of a system starter that applies oil through a pre-lube oil pump, a check valve, a vehicle engine oil filter, a vehicle engine adapter connected to a vehicle engine/pan, and a vehicle battery that powers the system. The system can also include an electronic control unit and an AND gate that allows automatic operation of the system when an oil sensing switch senses a drop in oil pressure. Additionally, the system can be designed to include a battery trickle-charger, an engine warming subsystem and a battery warming subsystem.

  • Patent number: 6650058
Abstract: A vehicle head light or auxiliary light assembly (10) that includes an inner housing (12) and an outer housing (30), wherein located between the inner and outer housings (12,30) is a light passage channel (46). At the center of the inner housing (12) is attached a central light bulb (28), and to each side of the outer housing (30) is attached a side light bulb (52). To the front of the outer housing (30) is attached a front lens (56) having around its perimeter (60) a plurality of light refracting serrations (62). When the lights of the assembly (10) are turned on by an electrical control circuit (70), the central light (28) illuminates in combination with the side lights (52). The side lights produce a light beam that is applied through the light passage channel (46), is refracted along the serrations (62) and is visible along the inner perimeter (60) of the front lens (56).

  • Patent number: 6646613
Abstract: A vehicle antenna light assembly (10) that is adapted to be removably attached to a vehicle antenna tip (90) as located on a vehicle antenna (92). The assembly (10) is comprised of an electronic light enclosure (12) that encloses a battery powered electronic light circuit (80) that sequentially activates a set of LED'S when the external environment is dark and the vehicle is moving. The enclosure (12) is attached to the antenna tip (90) by utilizing an enclosure attachment cup (32), a central attachment structure (42), and a compression washer (68). The attachment is accomplished by attaching the structure (42) to a lower section (18) of the enclosure (12). The cup (32) followed by the compression washer (68) is then inserted over the antenna (90) and the cup (32) is attached to a cup attachment cavity (60) located on the structure (42). When the attachment sequence is complete, the washer (68) bias the antenna tip (90) against the base (44) of the structure (42) to maintain a rigid attachment.

  • Patent number: 6619447
Abstract: A utility bag (10) comprised of a primary bag (12) and a releasably attached auxiliary bag (30. When the auxiliary bag (30) is attached to the primary bag (12), various items, such as sporting equipment, can be placed in each respective bag (12),(30) and carried together when desirable, the auxiliary bag (30) can be detached from the primary bag (12) by utilizing two sets of buckles. The primary bag (12) includes a plurality of straps which allow the primary bag (12) to be worn over a shoulder, such as a purse or carried by hand by utilizing a hand grip (102). The auxiliary bag (30), when detached, can be held by an attached carrying handle (118), or worn as a backpack by utilizing a separate pair of back straps. Both the primary bag (12) and the auxiliary bag (30) are constructed of a strong waterproof material and both bags utilize zippers to gain access to the bag's interior.

  • Patent number: 6598261
Abstract: A web cleaner (20) is presented that removes debris that clings to the surface of a substrate in a printing process. The cleaner uses a number of idlers (26) holding a web (22) taut therebetween with the web driven at high speeds by a printing press (24). The cleaner utilizes a pair of counter rotating textured rollers (28) positioned between the idlers with one roller positioned on each side of the web in close proximity therewith and each roller rotates in an opposite direction to that of the webs flowpath. A air separating bar (36) is positioned at right angles to the web bordering each roller in adjacent relationship for directing the air into a plenum (44) that covers each roller and skiving bar. The plenum is used to collect the debris detached from the web surface by air currents formed by rotation of the rollers creating an air film on the web surface. The same air currents produce a positive air pressure within the plenum.
